Coffee or tea: Which beverage fuels your mornings?

We're having a small discussion in our office about this. The majority is part of the coffee-empire but a small group of tea-rebels is fiercely defending their opinion. What about you?

Coffee = getting energy Tea = relax and winding down But I can’t drink coffee anymore due to low stomach acid. I used to have like 3-4 cups a day lol

At the moment coffee is my #1 choice. Since we have a professional coffee machine in our tech-hub, I love foaming the milk myself, and making nice looking cappuccino. It's like a routine for me. however, my plan next month to cut coffee consumption and switch to tea. most of the tea I can buy in the stores in Germany is shit. that's why I'm going to look for some top quality tea. will update you on the progress :)

Coffee (or more importantly caffeine) gives me that extra kick but in terms of my health tea is 10000000x better. Any recommendations for alternatives?
Lukas Rüger
@ashley_from_shadow I know a lot of people that take caffeine as small pills, but I guess that's not healthier haha
@ashley_from_shadow I used to have coffee, but low stomach acid makes me only be able to drink tea
@lrueger woah, caffeine pills?? That’s a thing?
@ashley_from_shadow why do you think caffeine is not good for health?
Coffee! To get its maximum effect, I drink it 90-120 minutes after I wake up!
Lukas Rüger
@bahar_ozkan Very scientific, what's the reason for that?
@lrueger Waiting 90-120 minutes to drink coffee after waking up aligns with the body's natural circadian rhythm. Cortisol, the "stress hormone," peaks in the first hour after waking, making the body naturally alert. Delaying coffee consumption allows cortisol levels to decrease, enhancing the impact of caffeine on alertness and energy.
Lukas Rüger
@bahar_ozkan Damn, good to know! Reading this while drinking my 2nd cup of the day - the first one was right after waking up haha Gotta try this out, thanks for sharing the info!
Ahmed Mobin
I am from a country where the average person drinks 2-5 cups of tea per day, which is the exact amount I drink in an entire year.
Lukas Rüger
@ahmed_mobin Hahaha, you're an outlier then. Where are you from?
@ahmed_mobin I know tea is popular, but how about coffee. It it very common to drink coffee in Pakistan?

In the morning: coffee. During the day: coffee, tea & energy drinks.
Lukas Rüger
@sviridov Damn, Energy Drinks! I think you're the first to mention those

Coffee for early mornings
Lukas Rüger
@psurekha_s Same, I need that caffeine first thing in the morning
@lrueger I used to, but I have low stomach acid so had to stop drinking coffee 😑
Björn
@slimmy82 sorry to hear that. So it’s tea or do you skip this ceremony at all?

Coffee for my sins ☕️

love coffee.. but i feel regular drinking isn't good for productivity
Lukas Rüger
@xeno1 What exactly do you mean? That you get used to it or that it's too much of an effect?
Ruslan.D
@lrueger it affects my tempo .. it accelerate me at first, but has slow down aftereffect without coffee i have more stable tempo ..
Lukas Rüger
@xeno1 Yeah I totally see that. Towards the evening to me it sometimes feels like my heart is racing at 200 bpm but my head is just as tired as before

coffee for mornings, and wine for nights 😂 my daily routine
@crystal_j that's a great routine! Any wine in particular?
Emily Hunkler
Oh yeah, it's gotta be coffee! However, I've been opting for herbal infusions in the afternoon. That being said, for me -- there's little better than hot coffee in the morning ☕️
@emilyhunkler American long coffee or espresso?
Emily Hunkler
@alessio_mavica Oh they both have their place! I love a long coffee with milk (pour-over is my preferred method) in the morning. I enjoy having that mug by my side for the first couple hours 😍 How about you?
Lukas Rüger
@alessio_mavica @emilyhunkler I'm surprised people still state their opinion here haha. But you're seen! I also need coffee in the morning - the afternoon and everything after that switches almost every day :)

Team Coffee all the way! There's nothing like the bold kick of a good espresso to jumpstart the day.

Gotta be coffee... If I have tea it's always been more of an evening drink for me
