Do we need more ethics in AI?

As Artificial Intelligence (AI) becomes increasingly ubiquitous, it raises important ethical considerations. AI technologies are increasingly integrated into our daily lives, from intelligent virtual assistants to facial recognition software. However, as the capabilities of AI continue to grow, so too do concerns around issues such as data privacy, algorithmic bias, and accountability.
According to Platformer, Microsoft laid off an entire team dedicated to guiding AI innovation that leads to ethical, responsible, and sustainable outcomes last week.
I'm not sure this is the right way to go.
What’s your opinion about this?

Good question! I think as time goes on, ethics will naturally be embedded into the system even if it has to come from regulation.

@aaronoleary How are you defining "Ethics"?
Yes, that would be nice. Otherwise - AI - will become a rude.
Data privacy is the last thing we should worry about, while algorithmic bias and accountability is far more concerning.
We need more ethics in tech in general.

Yes
Think of ethics as less of "Hey was this art created on training data that has copyright?" and more of "Does this particular model fit our goals in the most important sense: is this safe for humanity"

I'll write something about it on The ChatGPT Post later, tell me if you're interested👇!
@conversionrocks In my own experience it has almost kind of regulation, ask something inconvenient or inconvenient and see what answer it gives. On other side, the word "privacy" and MS in an article just make me laugh (or cry, chose one). I agree too with @aaronoleary , if we are going to talk about ethics, we need to have a common definition of it, as an example, IG censure an img of a mother giving breast to her baby cause there is a breast involved... I found it crazy... my point of view.

I agree that ethical considerations are crucial in the development of AI. Cutting an entire team dedicated to guiding ethical innovation is not the answer. We need more ethics in AI, not less.

Absolutely - I found this especially the case with visual AI tools that have crawled existing works to create something derivative. I think this will also be the case once audio/musical AIs get more effective.
There is the ethical component that is extremely fuzzy around all this and then the negative effect of devaluing the original artist whose work has been used as an input.
@daniel_dixon4 How is the original work devalued?
Yes, that would be good. Otherwise - AI - will become a enemy

I think so. I definitely would rather know if I'm reading something completely generated from AI vs a human.
@carter_barnett I would not particularly call this ethics.

I think with time, all of this will happen. Ethics is a personality trait. How we use AI is in control of our ethics and not the AI itself. So it's controllable I believe.
