How do you use Notion to organize your startup?

I’m trying to figure out how to best use Notion to manage product development, marketing, and collaboration as my startup grows. Would love to hear your setups and tips!

@hussein_r what's your team like? How many people, in-person or distributed? What's the breakdown of EPD vs. other functions? Also @temirlan might have some thoughts.

@temirlan @rajiv_ayyangar Right now, I don’t have a team yet. I’m currently working on the project solo. So my focus is less on team structures and more on organizing product development, marketing, and potential collaborations efficiently within Notion. I want to make sure the setup is scalable from the start, so that when I do bring in a team, everything integrates smoothly. How do you use Notion for growing projects? Any setups or workflows you’d recommend?

@temirlan @hussein_r if it's just you, it can be really simple - just a list of things to do. I wouldn't stress about it - just focus on building and talking to users.

I'm not a solo dev so my approach might be a bit different. From my personal working experience, having a dashboard is the key for organizing product and project management tasks. I use it to prioritize tasks and link them directly to specific projects. I also create detailed product requirements documents that cover everything from the background (why we need news product or changes or new features) to prototype designs and expected outcomes, which may seem like pointless formalism and tedious, but it works for me since I'm very forgetful LOL PS. each update has its own document, or the original doc would be too long to read, plus breaking big project into smaller ones makes it easier to fit into dashboard. It's all pretty basic I guess, but hope my sharing helps a little bit XD

@chacha_chan That helps, thanks. Do you use a template or is it something that just builds overtime?

There are tons of templates available in Notion. Using them as a starting point can be really convenient. But the most important thing is to modify and customize them to suit your own style.

@kay_arkainThanks, I will have a look into the templates
