I am Tara Reed: CEO of Apps Without Code // Forbes 30 Under 30 // TEDx Speaker // NoCode Queen
Being a pioneer in No Code app development inspired me to launch Apps Without Code; the very first No Code University where I teach others how to use technology to bring their app ideas to life without the need of expensive developers or coding knowledge.
To date, Apps Without Code has helped over 85,000 entrepreneurs, in 14 different countries, make money from apps that they built without code.
I'll be answering questions this Wednesday 🙌

Hi Tara, how can you help professionals ideate on what to create? TY
Share
@marygreenim Yeah! Actually I have an app idea generator you can use https://www.awcbootcamp.com/gene...?
But in general, here's the App Idea formula I use. If you answer these questions it'll lead you to a few ideas you're already qualified to build:
1) What's one thing you do for work
2) What's one thing that's hard or time consuming about that job
3) Imagine you built an app to relieve some of that stress in #2. What could that app do? Allow people to connect people in a community? Recommend things? Allow people to buy & sell things? Teach people something? Book services? Track things? Provide a directory of resources
4) What's one thing you do for a hobby
5) What's one thing that's hard or time consuming about that hobby

Hi Tara. Bravo on your inspiring success. I love your brilliant idea and the implementation speaks for itself. Will this be also focused on teaching kids how to create great apps on their own?
@sivan_baram Yes! At AWC, we just started talking to middle & high schools about putting our curriculum in their schools. I don't think the no code space focuses enough on young people though... to your point!!

Hi Tara! Thanks for taking the time to do this AMA! My question is, where do you see the future of no code going?
Right now it's a collection of different apps at different price points, eventually I see that centralising into one solution maybe.
@aaronoleary Personally I think the future of app building is conversational & AI based: a tool asks you questions that even a novice can understand & the tool builds the app for you.
We're starting to work on some solutions like this at AWC. I'd love your feedback on the beta test when we launch!
Also, my hope is that there's not one centralized solution though. Industries suck where there's only one centralized solution. I think its ok to have a whole ecosystem... just like there are multiple programming languages
Hi Tara,
I'm R. Darryl Thomas, Founder of mwseqâ„¢ (Music, Differently)â„¢.
mwseqâ„¢ makes it easy for The $uper-Fanâ„¢ to support The Musical Artist she loves.
As well, I am currently enrolled in your Apps Without Code program.
Here's the setup info for my question:
mwseqâ„¢ hired a SEO/CRO/Digital Marketing firm. They've provided mwseqâ„¢ with an audit of the current mwseqâ„¢ web app. Their audit points out SEO and CRO concerns that they would like to see reconciled in a new mwseqâ„¢ Landing page.
So, they want me to hire a web developer to create the new mwseqâ„¢ Landing page that addresses their audit's concerns, thus paving the way for them to implement their SEO, CRO and supporting digital marketing resolutions and campaigns.
My question then is this:
Is "Way," your new AI-powered company/service/product, able to furnish our mwseqâ„¢ Landing page that perhaps meets the concerns of our SEO/CRO/Digital Marketing vendor audit and that helps pave the way for them to implement their SEO, CRO and supporting digital marketing resolutions and campaigns?
Gratefully,
Darryl
@r_darryl_thomas I think when you're ready to heavily invest in SEO, you should move away from landing page builders & use a more robust website builder. I think the question is, when is the right time to be focused on speed & when is the right time to prioritize a more longterm/ slower strategy like SEO. I personally don't have a very SEO-heavy strategy to date for my own businesses
Hey Tara. Amazing work. I hope to achieve more and make even bigger impact to all the entrepreneurs and creator. It would be awesome at the feature to make tuts for kodika.io and rota.rocks . In reality I am into nocode space as an early adopter and I have found that webflow for websites are excellent choice or framer for simpler stuff and kodika.io is amazing for apps because you can make everything without limitations even to copy paste your sketch or figma design.
Hi Tara Reed.. this Rich from Brooklyn, NY.. I'm a freelance designer specifically in UX/UI & Brand Design that is also a DJ. I just wanna ask 2 questions..
1. How did you get into this industry? &
2. What drives you to succeed?...
Oh Oh one more question 😅 Is this AMA on Wednesday going to be live on YouTube or Instagram? Thanks and
Kind regards...
Rich from Brooklyn, NY
@richard_ottley1 Hey Richard! Good question. The AMA questions get answered right here!
1) I got into tech somewhat randomly during my Junior year of college. I had already accepted a summer internship offer at JP Morgan when I got a last minute offer for an internship at Google (that I had randomly applied to on a whim). I ended up sending back my signing bonus at JP Morgan and went to Google in California for the summer. At the time I was a little worried I would burn a bridge, but I took the leap anyway. I've been in tech ever since.
2) I'm mainly driven by play. Living a life that feels playful is a priority for me. I'm also driven by the desire to self-actualize, get out of my own way & become the best version of myself. So the majority of the things I do are personal challenges to get out of my own way & do things that feel scary anyway!
@tarareed_ This awesome responses thanks Tara, I really appreciate your responses to my questions. Have a blessed week 🤗🎉
Hi Tara! In 2016 I used a no code stack (Zapier + Typeform) to create a new anti-sex trafficking reporting tool for the Cities of Oakland and San Jose. It's called reportjohn.org and continues to run robustly with high reliability and low cost.
My question is, have you seen no-code / low-code get adopted at all in government? Any tools in particular? Any suggestions to accelerate the adoption?
@preet_anand Oh I love that!!
I mainly see tools that people make for government department use (i.e. they used a no code tool and build a solution and then white-labeled it to governments). The government may or may not have known it was made with no code (and prob didn't care)
I haven't seen many governments decide to build no code tools themselves though!
I think the best way to make that happen is by offering employee development training programs that fit inside of scope of what governments already have budget & understanding for!

Hi Tara, in your experience, what are the most popular courses that junior no-code developers love to learn?
Hi Tara, thanks for the AMA.
I just joined the ranks of nocoders playing a bit with FlutterFlow. I'm interested in building complete web and mobile apps, do you have any recommendation of nocode tools for it? For now I'm leaning towards FlutterFlow and Bubble but not sure about it.
@robertomorais I think you should check out GlideApps.com too. I like that there's a low learning curve but medium-to-high flexibility! Try it & let me know what you think
Hi Tara,
Would love to connect if you are open to networking. I am working on a thesis and would be great to chat briefly.

I am Iuliia, founder of MarbleFlows - no-code interactive flows to convert more leads.
Do you have any list of NoCode tools available out there to have a look?
Hi Tara,
congrats on your achievement.
@dhanilan_m_s_ aw thanks so much!
They Got Acquired
No-code queen, I love it.
Tara, I'm curious whether you've sold any of the projects you've worked on -- would love to feature you on TheyGotAcquired.com. We cover acquisitions with deal size of $100K-$50M. I want to get more women on our site *and* more no-code companies.
Thanks for introducing yourself.

Hi Tara! Nice to meet you. Congrats on reaching such a milestone with Apps Without Code . 🙂
My question for you -
1. When & how did you come up with the idea of starting Apps Without Code?
2. How did you achieve product-market fit? 🎯
Hi, I'm Sergei. Thx for the AMA.
The feeling that there are so many No-code applications that it's easy to drown in the ocean. How to find and choose the right one quickly and correctly?
And how many niches have not yet been occupied in this direction?
@sergeipetrov Yeah that's true. To be honest, I mainly only recommend Bubble & Glide. Bubble if you want high learning curve (and thus low speed to launch) and high capability. Glide if you want medium/low learning curve and medium capability
@tarareed_ Thanks for your answer, this will help me!
What about my other question about directions? Are there any potential vacant places to start a business in No-code direction? For example, to create some useful product.
Hi Tara, Big longtime fan. I come from a WordPress background of using plugins to provide functionality to webpages. Does glide offer a similar feature like plugins to offer more functionality to a glide app. Thinking along the lines of news aggregation/RSS feed plugins or FB or Instagram post plugins that could appear on the app plugin. If they do, where should I look. If those plugins are not an option yet, where would development like that start on the platform.
@mrwonerful Glide doesnt have plugins, but you can still accomplish something similar using Zapier. When someone posts something new, your zap would add it to a spreadsheet. The spreadsheet acts as the database for the app so you can show whatever you want from the spreadsheet inside your app. Does that make sense?
@tarareed_ thank you, for your time and answer. I will look into Zapier. Is it possible to aggregate specific (Keyword)data from a rss feed to zapier to the app. Example: cnn rss feed (keyword search-morning after pill) morning after pill data/post sent to zapier, that data sent to spreadsheet to post on the app at a specific time. WordPress has keyword news aggregation software that will automatically propagate (keyword) data to whatever part of the webpage you want. Looking for that kind of functionality before I start the builds on glide. Again thank you for your time and answers.
Can I make a no code app that has a marketplace of businesses and people at different price ranges who will convert video tutorials into written instructions at the same time as enough different screenshots of the tutorial videos for someone like me to learn from?
@brittany_daniels Yeah this is possible. The trickiest part if converting the video tutorials into written instructions. Look at tools like this https://www.veed.io/tools/video-...
@tarareed_ I am looking to have a company or someone else to convert these video tutorials I see on both the Adobe website and YouTube not just into written instructions, but written instructions at the same time as enough different screenshots of the videos so I can have the information the way I learn best.
@tarareed_ Can I also make a no code app that ask questions all along the way that are easy to answer to help me write various types of essays college/university students get in their various classes? I want help to just at least get a template that can then be used to help me write the final essay with though.
