Have you noticed this change in the Product Hunt discussions? You can create a post under the specific categories. It seems, that Product Hunt is testing these options. Which one do you like the most? What would you add/replace/remove?

When you are creating discussion, there is space for: – Title – Text – The category from drop down menu you want to use for listing the discussion. (after that, you can filter discussions according those categories) @elenat

95% or so is in General, so it doesn't really make sense. Would need more categories, and it should be necessary to select a specific category for each post.
