Startup teams: office, remote or hybrid?

I feel hybrid might be best for startups - full remote seems to slow things down sometimes. What's your experience?

I completely agree that fully remote tends to slow things down. Especially, at a start up. I'm a strong believer in working from office at startups. Helps bounce of ideas, discuss problems, and explore solutions at a much faster pace.

Of course it comes with some sort of flexibility.

For me, hybrid works best. We handle deep work remotely, but come together in person for key projects. It helps maintain focus without slowing progress.

We went fully remote and, while it works, I do miss the face to face energy. Hybrid sounds like a good balance if you can pull it off.

I agree with the hybrid: my system is two days in the office alternating with three days remotely. In the office we discuss with the team the best strategy to undertake for the new tasks, remotely I carry out what is decided, but there are also calls in which we work together for so long that it is as if I were working in the office. Working only remotely I do not think is the optimal solution, also because face-to-face comparison is also essential to strengthen the bond with the team

Hybrid gives the best of both worlds IMO. Regular in-person time for team bonding and energizing collab, plus flexibility to WFH when you need to hunker down on deep work. Balances serendipitous innovation with focused productivity.
