I feel like my battery is sooo low today, as if the weekend never happened! What do you do to recharge? Maybe, you have some tips to share?

To recharge my energy, I either spend time alone to settle my thoughts or take a walk around the park. I adore plants and greenery; they boost my mood and energize me.

@qudsia_ali yeah, I get you) I grow tomatoes on my balcony and I just love spending time taking care of them

I hear you! I just went for a walk in the sun and feel so much more ready to tackle the week! Hope you find an energy boost.

Might be a slightly unconventional approach but I try and spend a full weekend by myself every 6 weeks or so. My usual schedule is normally so hectic, even on the weekends, so it's been a great way to recharge socially.

My tips for energy restoration are mostly : - Watching a movie - Meditating - Sleep!!! Won't exaggerate but these 3 activities are GOLD for me! Mostly, sleep does restore a lot of my energy + mood šŸ˜›

Let the sunshine in, a few minutes of walking outside on a warm, clear day may enhance my mood, memory, and the ability to absorb new information. Going outside can even improve your self-esteem. If you absolutely can't get out, at least open the shades:))

A walk, a cold shower and some coffee, in that order!
Kate Dalessi
@martina_hackbartt cold shower! brrrrrr just thinking of it gave me goosebumps:)) I'm a spoiled warmth-loving creature. Like a lizard:))

@martina_hackbartt @katyaveremeichik It's hard but I keep a freezer full of cold water and when I get in (like once a week) I feel much more AWAKE :) but still feels horrible lol

In short-term - meditation, any sport, spa-massage In medium-term - total digital detox on weekends. As an option - sometimes we book 1 night in a good hotel to change context and relax. Works fine :)

I use sixty-second breathing activities, and that helps. I use a specific breath to help me recharge when I need to restore my energy. It's something the Navy SEALs are taught for when they need to recharge. Breathe in through your nose for four seconds, hold your breath for four seconds, breathe out through your mouth slowly for four seconds, and hold your breath for four seconds. Repeat. Set a timer for 60 seconds and give it a try next time your nervous system is fried!

I love to walk while listening to music. Sometimes a run, reading fiction or playing a game. Honestly I try to be energized on a daily basis, so I'm constantly doing some of those.

For recharging on the weekends, I've recently started playing DnD with my brother and sister-in-law, and it's done wonders for my mental health. During the work week, I have found that just getting out of the house for a couple of hours a day has helped. Leading a remote team has meant that the lines between work and life get blurred. So getting out of the house really helps me reset.

There's some good tips on the huberman lab podcast. Getting exposure to natural light is pretty important. I find going for a run outside works really well - exercise and light exposure. Morning exercise gets me fired up for a few hours but I normally have an afternoon dip if I am not careful. I find that doing micro workouts (e.g. 30 seconds of squats/pushups/crunches) every 20 minutes keeps me energized throughout the day. I built the micro workout feature into my app (focusbear.io) and have had some really big changes in energy levels, mood and productivity.

I feel the same many times. Especially being a startup founder, it can easily become exhausting. And if you do not have a routine to wind down and reenergize it is going to take a toll on your health. These are some of the things I do to wind down: - Spend time with my kids: Fun activities, playing with them, or helping them out. This is the #1 on my list. I make sure I do not remain distracted on the phone while I'm with my kids. Try to do this as much as possible, it will help both you and your kids make memories for a lifetime. - Browse fun stuff: I prefer not to look at SM. Instead, I look and browse meme sites like 9Gag. It helps in distracting from all your issues for a while and has a few gags. Look forward to knowing from others what their methods are.

To really recover I always need some time off. For me that means a period of 8-10 days. No email, no social media, no smartphone. Other solutions I use are mountain biking in summer and skiing in winter. If you just need a hotfix, you could try yoga or go for a walk in the woods.
Kate Dalessi
@jarjarbernie I walk in the woods a lot, since I live right next to it. The problem is that its therapeutical effect has worn off with time for me, and doesn't work as well as it used to

Hey @katyaveremeichik for me the best way is to have my self-time do some sports or go for a short hike, stop and have some coffee and just watch the people passing around on the street. No phone, no computer.
Kate Dalessi
@molotowl_studio no phone or computer is a luxury a startup marketer can afford only in their sleep:))) jokes aside, great point.

To get more energy, I mainly exercise (running, inline skating, swimming, ..) and make sure that I get enough sleep!

For me, when my brain can work no longer, I take time to listen to an audiobook while doing some cathartic and mentally calming tasks like cleaning the kitchen or folding laundry. Sometimes I'll workout. It's all about finding what works for you and making the space to do it!
Gleb Slonimskiy
sometimes you need just leave your room

I can do relate to being low on energy! Have you heard of a concept of a smart break vs ā€œfake breakā€ ? Smart breaks really help you recharge during the day versus fake break just let you switch to another task. This is a good article about it: https://intermountainhealthcare....

Relaxing while listing to music, that just hit the spot
Kate Dalessi
@samora funny thing: my brain works very actively while listening to the music, that does not relax me at all for some reason.. I think I'm taking music too seriously:))
Samson Godstime Adarighofua
@katyaveremeichik lolz some blend of music does that to me but for relaxation I go old school to Celine and Westlife
