Depends. TikTok is easier to get traffic but it's very hard to find customer. Youtube if you will do it correctly will give you more customers but it's very hard to get traffic :)
Why “or”? You should do both. It’s never a good idea to put all of your eggs in one basket. They reach consumers differently, so take a different approach for both, but don’t limit your outreach to just one.
It really depends on your goals and audience. For example for my company (we developing a JavaScript library for web reporting), YouTube is the best platform for sharing tutorials, tips, and tricks.
It depends what is your target groups and what is your market. For example, if you wanna promote your product in India, you cannot do it in TikTok because it been banned for years. And if your target group is gen Z TikTok is a suitable place to do so, however if your target group is already worked people who are with more paid value. Maybe it is more suitable to do a ‘How to’ video on Youtube.
Everybody is saying both - I agree with that.
I also understand you have to pick one first, otherwise, it is just too overwhelming.
If your product is something that needs a bit more in-depth overview and can benefit from a longer form (TV-like) format then start with YouTube.
If your content is wittier and your product can benefit from short-form, possibly humorous content - TikTok.
Eventually, you're gonna do both.
The way I see it, TikTok is best for for low-ticket products that have creative marketing angles to allow it to go viral.
If there are no angles to make your product reach virality, then I'd imagine that TikTok wouldnt be worth your time.
Keep in mind that TikTok requires content to be entertaining enough to capture and retain the viewer, and THEN you can plug the product.
Just creating orgnic ads wont work.
Any other thoughts (I could be totally wrong lol)?
Depends what is your audience. We got decent traffic on TikTok but not really any results in terms of customers. Same with youtube but even less traffic. For us, other platforms were better
If you adjust to trends and manage to "hack" algorithms, then you can easily go viral on TikTok. But it highllyyy depends on the product you are offering!
it all depends on what kind of audience you want to reach and what kind of content you want to publish. Long videos do best on youtube, short videos on tiktok, but the question is, are your potential customers on those platforms? What types of content do they want to receive?
Depends on your audience.
TikTok - to build brand awareness among a younger demographic, not the best for conversions. However, with the recently launched TikTok Shops, this migh change.
YouTube - when you want to advertise directly to your targeted audience using specific keywords and search intent. Great for B2B or B2C and converts well if your ad and CTA is done right.
