Like many of you, I've tried nearly every to-do list app out there. Some work better for me than others. Some helped me get *more* done, but I was struggling to get the *right* things done. At the end of the day, I would look back at my to-do list and wonder to myself, "did I actually get my most important work done today?" Too often, the answer was no. I thought apps with more features would help. But as I tried more and more apps, I would find myself going down the rabbit hole of features: Tagging. Organizing. Scheduling. Customizing lists. Managing the work would take the place of actually *doing* the work. And when I actually sat down to do the work, the urgent distracted me from the important (anyone else?) Peter Drucker once said that “Efficiency is doing things right. Effectiveness is doing the *right* things.” That's what inspired this app. The premise of 3things is simple: each day, you write down your 3 most important tasks. You can only pick 3, so choose wisely. This constraint forces you to focus on what's most important, not just what's top of mind. To-dos are automatically erased at midnight, so you'll get a blank slate tomorrow. Check all 3 items off your list and you can build your productivity streak. Over time, your successes will begin to compound and your productivity will skyrocket. It's intentionally simple so you can focus on getting the right work done. There are a few features on the roadmap, including: - SMS/email reminders to set your priorities for the day - Set-your-own price to pay for breaking your streak (like Beeminder) Would love to hear everybody's thoughts, questions, and ideas. Hope 3things can help you be more productive!
