This looks like cool tech! The depth of conversation it can engage looks incredible. That being said the naming is unfortunate given Marvel's Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. incredibly creepy humanoid robot, named Aida (same pronunciation). I don't think I could ever trust an "Ada". 😂

The day one of those things can actually "support clinical decision making" is the day we have reached the Singularity. At this stage in the game, third year art students have a higher statistical reliability in diagnosing illnesses than IBM's Watson. Unless ADA is significantly more intelligent than them, it's a crapshoot. As an actual health professional, I'd have diagnosed the lady in the video differently. I am sure you guys paid some doctors to come up with symptoms and diagnostic findings, so you wouldn't look too bad, but even then, I would have differently (and asked different things). Am I right? I don't know. All I know is that those questions are ill-suited to diagnose anything, so it doesn't matter.

@legerdemain Hi, this is Daniel, founder and CEO of Ada. Thanks for your opinion. From your comments, it does not sound like you have actually tried out the app. I would encourage you to do so - we appreciate constructive feedback, especially from trained health professionals, including paramedics such as yourself.

Ada is a personal health companion that uses AI and machine learning to help people to understand and manage their health. Designed by a team of 100 doctors, data scientists and engineers, Ada was launched with the mission to give everyone access to high quality, personalized health information and care. At Ada’s core lies a sophisticated medical reasoning engine that also supports doctors by providing earlier health information and informing clinical decision making. We just released Ada for Android - let us know what you think!

@nathrath Hi Daniel: After seeing the video on PH, I am interested in using Ada with Alexa (in addition to Mac and iOS) but cannot locate the Skill among the Echo Skills. Please advise how to set this up. Thanks.

Interesting--is the FDA considering Ada a medical device such that they'd regulate it?

This is really amazing!
