Hi folks, my cofounder Mohammed and I are building Afterword, the best summarization app in existence!
We want to solve the anxiety and overload of engaging with new subjects, by building a visual way to surf and absorb information. With Afterword you can start charging through your reading list (we support Pocket imports) or your YouTube watch later list, with a simple UX so you can focus on understanding.
Managing knowledge is an old genre of software, and we could see that LLMs can be used to build a whole new class of KM apps. But we found that nothing like this existed or was even building in this direction.
We wanted something like this for ourselves. We’ve got loads of exciting, thought provoking features in the pipeline. Summarization is just the start.
I have really enjoyed using Afterword to summarize YouTube videos and articles. It has sped up my learning across various areas of research for my work. The ability to quickly digest complex information and integrate insights into my projects has been invaluable. Highly recommend for anyone looking to enhance their efficiency and knowledge acquisition!
Looks interesting guys! Does it help in linking internally to build personal knowledge graphs? Future suggestions? What does the product roadmap look like?
@nimit_mehra1 Yes, something like that is in the pipeline. Although personal knowledge graphs are quite limited in their navigability and they become unusable once there is any amount of useful knowledge in them.
We have plans to 'break them out', so to speak.
Congrats on the launch! I'm curious to know how Afterword utilizes LLMs to provide accurate and concise summaries across various types of media, and what other innovative features are planned for the future to enhance the user experience even further.
@anastasia_chakileva_ Hi Anastasia, about planned features, I will paste my reply to Nimit's comment above:
"Yes, (personal knowledge graphs) are in the pipeline. Although personal knowledge graphs are quite limited in their navigability and they become unusable once there is any amount of useful knowledge in them.
We have plans to 'break them out', so to speak."
Been using the pre-release version and I must say I love the outcome. Saves me a lot of time and allows me to collaborate with my team as well. Do try this fellas!
Looking great and improving every day! Having used it since the early pre-launch days, Afterword is just what you need to summarise a lengthy document or article
This is a great product. I personally hate lenghty youtube videos and Afterword is amazing. Tried it and I think I am going to use it quite frequently.
Congratulations @aneesh_arora on the launch.
Absolutely the solution I have been waiting for. Loving it so far and can’t wait to put it to further tests
A right product launch at the right time. The Summarisation capability resonates with me since I'm always skipping lengthy podcasts to just see the relevant info.
