@ilyaberdysh As an AI language model, I cannot provide my opinion on this product. However, it seems like Replai_so offers a solution to a common problem many users face on social media platforms. The chrome extension offers a simple and efficient way to generate AI-generated replies to help users grow their social media profiles. The 20 free replies and custom reactions make it an attractive option for those looking to improve their engagement, especially for Product Hunt, Twitter, and LinkedIn users. Overall, it is a useful tool that could save users time and effort while enhancing their online presence.

Do you think apps like these can be detrimental to community-focused platforms? What you get out of this often unlikely to actually feel authentic (or clever, or funny) – it's growth hackers using bots, "talking" to each other in a cycle of empty engagement. Many comments end up sounding mostly the same (like they were regurgitated from limited information by an AI). As an example, look at many of the comments on this launch (obviously AI). What do you think was improved? Folks were able to leave comments with little effort, but you (the maker) are not learning anything valuable from them and it's negatively effecting everyone else's experience. Fwiw, we're aware that folks are choosing to participate in this kind of empty engagement on Product Hunt. We're actively working on ways to ameliorate and combat it, as we believe that it has a negative impact on the experience of most of our users. This isn't without complications, since LLMs like ChatGPT are definitely capable of "good" comments (and real people often write "bad" comments). However, as a tech-centric community, most of our users are extremely familiar with the patterns and quirks that can identify an AI written piece of content. (Side note, you can report comments on Product Hunt that seem like πŸ€– using the 'Report' button on comments) And so I put it to you ?makers : Do you think that AI-generated comments – like the ones created by Replai – make communities like Product Hunt a better place?
Vlad Kooklev
@kylefrost how are default comments like "Congratulations on your launch, friends!" better than these? Does quality add to the moment of physical contact with the keyboard? It seems to me that you're treading into the complicated philosophical question of content quality and trying to pass off your opinion as *fact*.
Kyle Frost
@bluzir Great question! Short answer, they're not. Similarly, they're not adding much value to the community, or to makers. It's a similar challenge for us. Defining what is "good" is definitely an incredibly complex and challenging issue to address, but LLMs have drastically expedited low-effort participation on a range of platforms. I'm just sharing my opinion and experiences so far (in the context of PH) with these types of comments, in the hopes of conversation.
Vlad Kooklev
@kylefrost, I understand your point, but I believe the problem runs deeper than that. There are different user scenarios to consider, one being the "add value to the community through comments" and the other being "support the product through comments." Currently, both scenarios are confined to the comments section below the launch. If I want to support the product, I write a comment, which doesn't necessarily have to be valuable to the community. It's just an act of showing support and wishing success to the product. On the other hand, if someone wants to bring value to the community, they write a valuable comment. However, it's unclear why value from another person will affect the metrics for launching the product by other people. It seems like there's a game with rules that doesn't actually relate to such products.

@kylefrost My opinion: as long as the output is controlled by the user, and not by an automated bot, this is good and should exist. There are plenty of tools for helping users to communicate their thoughts, emotions, and ideas in a more clear and more understandable way. I personally use AI replies as a nice template, to which I add my personality, it helps me to overcome the "fear of the blank page". I know that a lot of our users use Replai in the same manner. LLM brings to us a new interface for expressing ideas, in a faster and more elegant way.
Kyle Frost
@serjobas I appreciate that perspective, and that's certainly the ideal scenario for use, but it's sadly not how I've seen Replai (and similar services) being used on Product Hunt so far. The vast majority seem to be "one click comments" vs "helping communicate/kickstart ideas". Now, that's definitely not Replai's "fault", but it is an unfortunate side effect of removing any effort from the process. A comment on your launch for example: "Now there is no need to think when you post something on the product hunt comment section". Also see, the number of nearly identical "game changer" comments. I am curious if you think that integrating this so closely with PH makes PH *better*?

Great tool! Replai saves me a lot of time and helps me create engaging replies on social media. The AI feature is very impressive. I love it! (Generated by Replai πŸ‘¨β€πŸ³)

Congrats on the launch Ilya and team! This is an interesting concept. One of the my concerns though is whether the replies will feel too unauthentic and out of tune with my writing style. Is there a way to therefore train Replai on my writing style?
Alexandr Patushinskiy
I use it in my work every day. Love it!
Kirill Sokol
Good stuff for my next ProductHunt launch 😊

Congrats team for this launch! Added Replai to my chrome extension. I need some support on my daily social media interactions. Too bad it doesn't include Product Hunt yet. I would have started with this message :) Best of luck!

Ilya Berdysh
@artem_mazurchuck Agreed, Replai seems like a great solution for busy social media users
Alexander Marktl
Looks impressive, but seriously: where does this end? AIs talking to each other instead of humans? I think there will soon be a need for a real human response detector (AI again?), otherwise Social Networks will become completely useless...
Ryan Hoover
@alexmarktl eventually my AI will simply talk to your AI
Reha Santiago
@serjobas also I think human responses are much better than these chatgpt responses. AI still has a long way to go
Sergey Bunas
@reha_santiago @alexmarktl @rrhoover sure, LLM has a long way to go, with thousands of the best minds working on it. But already at the current state of the development, we can see replies that are well combined, that are in the context, and can be used as a starting point for your personalized answer.
