Hey everyone, I'm Gorjan, the founder of AirCare! I hate air pollution, yet the pollution in my city of Skopje (N.Macedonia) regularly goes x20 over safe limits. People didn't really talk about it, so I decided to use my coding skills to make this data available to the masses. That is how, in 2015, AirCare was born - a web and mobile app that uses open air pollution data from government, volunteer and satellite measuring stations, and displays it in a very simple and understandable manner. Since then, the app has had over 300.000 downloads, triggered multiple protests in the Balkans, and forced governments to implement greener and cleaner policies - all because people knew what they were breathing! Since then, that became the tagline of AirCare. Fast forward to 2020, I've added data for over 40 countries, including the US, EU and Australia. With the πŸ”₯ wildfires in California, it has become very relevant to hour-on-hour the pollution of the air around you. We have 10.000+ sensor locations from over 20 networks (regional and international), and aim to have AirCare live around the world till the end of this year! We really want to hear what you think, how we can make it better, and how we can help continue the fight for clean air!
