Early user, early supporter, love seeing the continual progress, great job!
Steffen Hedebrandt
@neilswmurray Thanks a lot, Neil - It's been a long, hard and exciting journey so far. Thanks for the initial support. A lot more good stuff to come from us!
Jakob Marovt
Great job, this is looking really sweet! What kind of use-cases do you see companies using Airtame for?
Steffen Hedebrandt
@jmarovt Hi Jakob, we normally term it all shared screens in schools and businesses. So that would be meeting- and classrooms, larger presentation rooms, cantina's and so forth. When you are not actively streaming to the Airtame, you can also use it to display KPI dashboards, by inserting the URL's as the Airtame background.

The team behind Airtame are super sharp and they're always there when we need their support or have any questions

Pros:

1) Elegant Danish Design

2) More powerful than ever

3) Greater wi-fi reach

4) Better connection with higher RAM

Cons:

All my cons from the Airtame V1 are fixed with the release of the Airtame V2

Steffen Hedebrandt
Thanks for the comment, @jasenkohadzic - We've done our best to make it the best Airtame ever 😄
Pia Ella Elmegård

I love a company that listens to its users! Thanks for creating the Airtame 2!

Pros:

It's beautiful - and it's less distracting.

Cons:

None.

Tim Winfree
Awesome looking product, although it took some digging for me to understand what it was. With 2nd versions of things, there's a tendency to want to focus on the improvements, which can be at the cost of leaving newcomers behind. I'd consider incorporating a brief how-it-works section into your video or adding explanatory text over your imagery, or replacing some of the "bold, new..." language with something more explicit.
Steffen Hedebrandt
@timwinfree Hi Tim, thanks for pointing this out. I think you are right. I just posted the unboxing and installation video to deal with this.

Our company has used the first generation of the product and loved it, looking forward to testing the new and more powerful product. Will buy for sure!

Pros:

Latest wireless technology, good price point, cloud enabled

Cons:

Non really

What's the specific difference between Airtame 1 and Airtame 2?
Simone Hjorth
@jannipedersen Hi Janni. Take a look at this comparison article on Airtame 1 vs Airtame 2: https://airtame.com/compare/airt...
Brian Kyed
@jannipedersen Haha. Obvious question. Thanks! :) There's a lot of nice differences between the two. Have a look at this comparison we did between the two products: https://airtame.com/compare/airt...
Gary Torres
Seems awesome! But how different is this compared to plugging a Chromecast into every meeting room TV?
Steffen Hedebrandt
@gary_torres thanks for the question. We get that question a bit, as Chromecast is the reference people have for the device you use at home. The shortest version would be that Chromecast is great at home, at work you need Airtame as demands for network security, device management for IT Admins with hundreds of devices to attend to are quite different. An even longer answer you can find in this article: https://airtame.com/compare/chro... 😄
Goldy Arora
how is it different that Google Cast (Chromecast)?
Steffen Hedebrandt
@goldy_arora thanks for the question. As I wrote above, we understand the similarities our two products have. However under the hood, they are different and made for different use cases. Chromecast for your home. Airtame for your work. We have made an article to explain these differences, if you want a deep dive: https://airtame.com/compare/chro...

I love my Airtame1 and from the trials I've had with V2 it seems like they've taken "perfect" and managed to improve it. Get it if you ever need to share your screen on to a TV
Brian Kyed
Hi Product Hunters! Thanks to @chrismessina for featuring us. So cool to have the inventor of the #hashtag loving our new product. I am Brian, CPO& Co-founder here at Airtame. We are so happy to share Airtame 2 with you, and a little bit more about the journey we have been on to get to this point. We started in 2014 with a record-breaking Indiegogo campaign. It was clear we were fixing a common problem - the nuisance of cables. Since then, we have shipped over 100k first generation devices, and hopefully, introduce a bit more flow (and a lot less clutter) in business and education environments. In that time, we received lots of valuable feedback from customers about how they wanted to use screens better. To turn them into more active ways of fostering collaboration and participation in professional and classroom environments. To unlock this powerful new goal, we needed a powerful new version of our hardware. Airtame 2 is more powerful and robust, plus should run a whole lot smoother and faster. Today we are excited to share our journey with you and show you what we’ve built! We’d love to hear your honest feedback. Along with this Product Hunt launch, you can go and pre-order your Airtame 2s directly from our website airtame.com. We intend to ship the first batch of Airtame 2s in late October 2018. Thanks for reading, upvoting and all the love we have received so far around Airtame 2. Best, Brian - and the entire Airtame team.

@chrismessina @brian_kyed Looks awesome, can't wait for it to ship! Quick marketing suggestion: The video needs to do more to explain the Airtame value proposition (i.e., why you want an Airtame in the first place.) For people like me, who have followed the product for a while now that isn't necessary but for many potential consumers (who don't know the original Airtame) this won't be obvious. Watching the video - without Airtame context - you would think the primary value is in digital signage, which is only one part of the overall value proposition. And this makes it hard to share the videos with other people - because I would need to share two videos.

Huge props to the hardware+design team, matte black + scandinavian simplicity and soo smooth to the touch! #matteblack #design #goteam

Where do I start?! It's powerful. And I mean really powerful. That's what you want your screen sharing solution to be! Image quality and speed keeps me amazed!

Pros:

Image quality - fantastic, design - smooth and minimalistic, very strong connection, genius solution with the magnet!

Cons:

None. Great job Airtame!

Thor Wowk Larsen

will be upgrading to 2.0 asap

Pros:

Better and more stable connection

Cons:

can't see any

I always enjoyed Airtame's product and how the company keeps innovating the software and features. The hardware update was totally unexpected but an awesome update to the product.

Pros:

Nice feature and design update.

Cons:

No cons yet.

Ubi Lubi Barrier Bustos

Everything they promise , will be always a promise.

The original Airtame never got even close to the promises. And thats not even considering the delays in the delivery.

The video is choppy, the audio will constantly lag, it is useless for gaming (that one i never expected to work) and for video streaming you will be fighting to try and get decent playback.

The device in itself is great. The software application sucks. You can modify it and get really good video streaming using vlc/ffmpeg and not expecting realtime reaction. Even 4k content. You can also hack some desktop sharing utilities and get far better performance than the software they created.

But guess what ? I didnt paid for a device i had to hack. The people i recommended to get onboard all hate the device, and have it as a nice screensaver , or rss display.

This video claims they are upgrading connectivity and look of the device. Guess what ? those points are almost non-issues.

So, stay away. You will overpay for a nice piece of hardware. And you will get sub-par software thats constantly being updated and introducing new bugs and different behaviour.

Even if you like to hack it, you are better off buying any of those chinese stick-tv android/linux based. You could buy 2 or 3 with the same money.

Pros:

Nice compact device, with 2 radios external storage and nice cpu.

Cons:

Doesnt work as advertised.

Tony Beltramelli

I want to add that they have an amazing customer support

Pros:

- can stream from any platform

- can stream entire screen, not just some apps

Cons:

- the early version had streaming issues, the latest update is amaing!

From my knowledge, there's nothing like the Airtame 2 on the market today. It's super powerful for its size and the impressive performance makes it much less of a hazzle to present wirelessly! Screens are ment to be used - this makes it easy.

Pros:

Beefier device with the Cypress WiFi chip and more RAM

Cons:

You'll have a lot of cables that you need to get rid of somehow

Steffen Hedebrandt
Thanks a lot for the compliment, Kræn!
