COVID-19 Self-Assessment Tool - COVID-19 self-assessment made by USC Gehr Center

Hospitals are getting overloaded with people who shouldn’t be there. We created a self-assessment based on CDC guidelines to make recommendations. It’s clinically validated, and we believe may help people stay informed and reduce the load on health systems.

Hey Hunters, The global impact of COVID-19 has been profound, and the public health threat it represents is the most serious seen in a respiratory virus since the 1918 H1N1 influenza pandemic.  Many predict that our health systems will face the brink of going over capacity partially because many people are getting unclear recommendations on how to handle their symptoms and concerns, putting those who need immediate medical attention for COVID or non-COVID related issues at risk. The Gehr Family Center for Health System Sciences and Innovation at the USC Keck Medical Center designed this self assessment. This clinically validated assessment takes CDC guidelines and makes them easy to use by personalizing a recommendation based on answers to a few questions regarding exposure and symptoms. Give us an upvote and share this with your friends and family to help our health systems stay above water. Please note that this tool doesn't replace a medical professional.

*Very quick and easy to understand the critical basics of a self-assessment. Your very obvious link to CDC’s updates is an important part of the “critical basics.” *Upvoting process, however, needs to be easier - i.e., no need to sign-up and more obvious link to the tool. In general, people without some kind of nexus to the tool developer want “stupid easy”. But for the sign-up part, I could easily spread the word for upvotes.

@linda_p_ Thanks for the great feedback Linda! The CDC guidelines can be tough to navigate so we're happy this made it easier for you. As for the upvoting process, I think Product Hunt tries to ensure an authentic user base with user login, but I agree that stupid easy is definitely the goal.
