We're very happy to introduce to you the revamped version of Nitro 🥳 previously our human translation platform only supported plain text format, but now it also supports file translation 😺
You can add a link to your Google Docs file and get the translation back with all the formatting kept, which saves you time ;)
Go to nitro.alconost.com and check out Nitro without even creating an account! We'd love to know what you think ^_^
Our team has been working hard on this feature, and there are more file formats on the way 🔥
Hey Product Hunt!
Diana, Nitro’s product manager here 👋
It’s been 8 months since our first launch on PH, and we’re super excited to introduce to you our big update 🔥
When we launched Nitro, our professional translation platform, users could only paste plain text for translation, and then copy the finished translation back into a Google Doc, Google Sheet or .json file.
But wouldn’t it be great if users could simply upload their file for translation? So our product and dev team started working on a big update: a file translation feature.
Currently we’ve added the option to upload Google Docs and receive the translation in the file, with all the formatting in place. Making sure all the formatting is preserved (headings, bullet lists, text in bold and italics, text in different colors, etc.) was the longest and most complicated part of this feature.
So today we are proud to show you an improved version of Nitro where you can not only get a plain text translated quickly, but also Google Docs keeping its original formatting, links and pictures.
A big thanks to our team — without you, guys, we wouldn’t have come that far ❤️
PS: Special offer just for the Product Hunt community 😺 use the code PRODUCTHUNT2022 to get your 20% discount for Nitro translations. The code will expire next Friday!
@olga_bozhko Not a big secret, I can share this info :) next we'll be adding .json, .strings and Google Sheets file format support 🥳 hope you'll find this addition valuable! :)
@shahdeepa Thanks a lot, Deepa! I'll be very happy if you give it a try! If the discount expires by then, just reach out to me and I'll create one more specially for the Thursday team :)
I've been using Nitro for years and didn't think that I need this feature. But once they rolled it out, I gave it a try and understood how convenient it is in actual fact! Good luck with the ProductHunt second launch guys!
@james_adams_1 hey James, thanks for your comment! Do you mean what's the difference between a plain text translation and a Google Docs translation? If so, imagine you have an article or a landing page in a Google Doc. Usually it has some formatting: links, headings, bullet lists, pictures, text in bold, italics, or even in other colors... if you just copy and paste such a text as a plain text, you'd have to restore all this formatting manually, and in a text which is in a foreign language! Too much hassle, right? But if you upload you Google Doc to Nitro, when you receive the translation, it will maintain all your formatting in another Google Doc :)
Your question could also refer to automatic machine translation through Google Translate. The difference is quite serious: machine translation (with mistakes leading to misunderstanding or even embarrasement) vs. human translation by Nitro. Though Nitro is a self-service platform, texts on Nitro are only translated by human translators, which means high quality and no embarrasement ;)
