What can I use this for?
---
Broker API is organized around REST, making it easy and intuitive to build on top of Alpaca’s infrastructure. Until now, integrating stock trading capabilities into an app was a tedious and linear process. Now, you can start building in a sandbox environment in parallel with becoming compliant with applicable rules and regulations.
With Broker API, you are creating the ability for your users to invest in the stock market with as little as $1. This means that people from all over the world will be able to own portions of companies and ETFs that they would have otherwise not been able to access and invest in.
We started offering our Broker API at the end of last year. With the help of our key partners, we have continued to develop and fine-tune our platform. Today, we’re thrilled to announce Gotrade (https://www.heygotrade.com/) and Midas (https://www.getmidas.com/) as our first Fintech partners (both registered broker-dealers in their respective jurisdictions) that built and launched their apps using Alpaca Broker API.
How can I get it?
---
From here https://alpaca.markets/broker, you can get your API keys and start building right away in our sandbox environment. You won’t have to worry about the live market, real money, and compliance until you’re ready. Once you’re ready to go live, our partnership team will guide you through the rest of the onboarding process.

1) This is not an offer, solicitation of an offer, or advice to buy or sell securities, or open a brokerage account in any jurisdiction where Alpaca is not registered (Alpaca is registered only in the United States).
2) Subject to limitations and restrictions. Typically available only for registered broker-dealers.
@hnshah@yokokawa244 Great job! Congratulations! Does this eliminate the initial invite only requirement for algo traders outside the US who want to switch to live trading account?
I've used the Alpaca API to trade stocks. Has saved me beaucoups of time.
My team and I have been building a product with this API, excited to launch it with Alpaca!
Hi, great idea!
1) How do you work with other companies in terms of the contract, payment?
2) Can you tell us limits when we compare my personal app+your api with Robinhood from the user perspective?
Thanks!
This is revolutionary. Only last week I was looking for a way to buy US stocks from India and couldn't find anything good. I've signed up through GoTrade. Congratulations on the launch. This changes everything.
@yokokawa244 That's great, I'll test the product and if it works as I think it does we'll be referring a lot of startups in the region and globally to use Alpaca
Congrats! I was looking for something like this just recently. Thank you. Quick question why would I use Fully-Disclosed Broker-Dealer if I can use Non-Disclosed Broker-Dealer?
You're right. Nice product. I've been using this app for two weeks already and it has a very nice interface. I like using trading apps to watch everything that happens on the markets live. It's quite practical and gives you enough knowledge to understand trading properly. For example, I like using forextb.com trading platform to follow the current situation on the forex market. It helps to understand when I should buy or sell the particular currency.
P.S. Never buy crypto!
@yokokawa244 Thanks Yoshi. A lot of people have been trying to connect us. We're building something special and I'm super interested in this API integration with our platform. Can you e-mail me (tobias@trading.tv) to setup a time to discuss or put me in touch with an sales engineer?
Congrats on the fantastic launch! Is it possible for a simple trading/investing app to use the Brokerage API (e.g. a company that isn't an RIA or BD)? I saw that the documentation says there is support for these non-financial institutions, but I was curious how that worked. Would Alpaca handle the entire CIP/KYC/AML process?
