The Scout allows you to track and score your oral health with quantitative metrics. We use hyperspectral imaging to help monitor and improve your oral health habits. Scout is like a fitness tracker for your mouth. (disclaimer: not a medical device).

Hey Everyone! Welcome to the Amardent Scout launch! Ishan and I are incredibly proud to unveil the world's first oral wellness tracker. We built this to help everyone understand and improve their oral health. This product came from the frustration and worry of being cooped up during COVID without a good way to tell if we were taking care of our teeth. We should be able to do more to track our oral health in between dentist appointments, and Scout is the start of that.

Epic!!! I love new wearable tech (currently rocking the Ultrahuman Ring and a few other devices.) re: Requested Feedback - I scrolled through the home page and still felt a bit curious about: (Not sure if other customers will, just adding a data point.) - How does this work? Is it taking pictures/videos/Ultrasound? Not sure where to even begin haha. - Am I putting some type of device in my mouth? (I re-read a few times and am not sure if this is using my phone camera, if I'm putting the Amardent device in my mouth, or if I'm somehow putting my phone in my mouth πŸ˜…) - Is this scanning my teeth somehow? Or mostly gum health? I think overall it would be really beneficial to me to see the scores from here https://share.cleanshot.com/gDF2... as page sections. I'd love to see a bit of each feature and how it's calculated. I felt the home page taught me how to use the device, but didn't tell me what the device was used for. πŸ˜… (Sorry if that's coming off as too harsh) I love this concept, hope to see Bryan Johnson and other biohackers using it in the future! Hope that's the type of feedback you were after, congrats on your launch!!

@esus Thanks for the great feedback! I went ahead and updated the wording on whether you put it in your mouth (you put part of the scout in your mouth, but definitely not your phone haha). On how it works, we're actively trying to figure out the wording, but the answer is hyperspectral imaging. We've narrowed down to a few wavelengths where we can see the biomarkers that matter in terms of oral health, and we've built a camera system that looks at those specific wavelengths. That imaging tech absolutely lets you scan teeth and gums both (and arguably does teeth even better). Thanks for all the feedback!

@eric_frank_amardent That sounds epic, it (hyperspectral imaging) sounds futuristic. If I saw that on the main page I'd probably love to read more/click through. πŸš€

@eric_frank_amardent I agree about needing a bit more info. E.g., like "Hyperspectral imaging (HSI) is a technique that analyzes a wide spectrum of light instead of just assigning primary colors (red, green, blue) to each pixel." Then add the part above about "We've narrowed down to a few wavelengths where we can see the biomarkers that matter in terms of oral health, and we've built a camera system that looks at those specific wavelengths." That gets me somewhere. I'm sure you'll come up with something even better! (And I bought one anyhow!) Another FAQ: Does each person in a family need their own camera, for that part about putting it in your mouth? Or can it be sanitized and used for another person? Best wishes!

@c_m24 Hey there! So excited that you picked up one of the devices!!! So, we actually have some additional pages in the works to talk about just this! (Also, trying to keep the patent lawyers happy as we get all that wrapped up). We'll be sure to keep updating it as we can, and we'll also publish some pages on the exact science we're using for the device! As far as the device ownership question: Scout is recommended for one person at a time. Like a toothbrush, our device goes in your mouth, so unless you're able to clean it thoroughly, we'd recommend you keep it to yourself. We're investigating sterilizeability, but best practice is definitely one per person!

@eric_frank_amardent Oh doh- you DID answer that one about "can more than one person use it" already! Didn't even see the FAQs.
