Prime Day — More deals than Black Friday, exclusive for Prime members

As my friend @nickkrasney points out, if they'd chosen 7-19 instead of 7-15 it would have actually been prime. Shame.

This is basically Amazon making a holiday all for themselves. Hutzpah! Prime Day is a one-day shopping event on July 15, 2015, with more deals than Black Friday. Prime members can shop exclusive deals from electronics, toys, video games, movies, clothing, patio, lawn and garden, sports and outdoor items and more.

This is probably fantastic way to get people to sign up to Prime. I wonder what would be better - this or offering Prime customers early access to deals on Black Friday?

Cyber Monday just consists of me browsing Amazon anyway, why not make it its own thing on its own day?!

More deals than Black Friday doesn't necessarily mean better deals. Regardless, curious to see what they have to offer.

I like this idea. I like more opportunities to shop deals throughout the year than having everything in November. But I wouldn't exactly say no to early access then either :)
