AMC and MoviePass have had some beef over the past year. Interesting to see AMC rolling out its own competitor. While it's a little more expensive, it doesn't have blackout dates and includes some concession perks.
Curious to hear from people that use MoviePass. I don't see enough movies to even warrant a subscription.
@rrhoover been using moviepass since they 1st launched. This offer is pretty enticing with access to IMAX and Dolby movies since I primarily watch at the Metreon AMC. I've signed up to get notified on the 26th
Love that MoviePass has forced this industry to start thinking differently. Honestly, I think we're all still struggling to understand how MP will make this business model sustainable. So also good to see that we'll have another option once they go under. In the meantime, I'll stick with MoviePass because it's cheaper and I'm not limited to only one movie theater group, like AMC.
Love the changes coming in this space. So many smaller movies don't do well because it's simply too costly to see multiple movies in theatres each month. Subscription models will allow families more leeway in being able to take a chance on a film that they may have been unable to afford in the past.
