@phillpafford Siri API seems like a no-brainer as people will want to interact with Apps on Apple TV using their voice. Anyone know if this is coming?
@phillpafford Same. I'm hoping there will be a press release before the Apple TV launches in October.
@phillpafford I don't want a separate hub for each of my HomeKit devices. I was hoping Apple TV would be the one rule them all.
@filipmares I don't think there's any update, because of the new hardware. The device looked significantly bigger so I guess the others are just legacy
@samatrouh downvote :( but I'm not too sad since I'm upgrading anyway. I was just hoping I could keep using the old one for another TV.
@samatrouh they couldn't be upgraded. Without gestures, Siri, etc from the new remote, it wouldn't work 😁
The new Apple TV looks awesome. It's running tvOS, has a new remote with touch surface and Siri-support, and has universal search so you can easily search through all your shows. They've also added some cool gaming features.

I actually use my Roku box more than my Apple TV for Netflix, Amazon, Rdio, and Pandora. I'm not sure this upgrade will win me over.
@chrismessina of course there're lots of great boxes already. But the beauty is in the integrations with other iDevices, and the App Store I guess :)
@chrismessina Is that because you're not into games, or you just don't like that method of playing games. I'm asking because it seems like I'll use it a lot with the new Apple TV, for myself and my kids, but maybe it won't be as fun in practice?

@bradenhamm mostly a matter of time. I'm sure the kids would enjoy App Store games on tvOS.
Does this mean we'll get loads of annoying notifications while watching a movie?
@stinhambo That's a great point. On our site we allow for notifications while viewing until you enter Cinematic Mode (fullscreen) which mutes them.

I was really hoping for a find my remote feature. Either a button on the ATV box or using iPhone -- anyone else?
Really like that they are finally bringing some much needed updates to AppleTV. The search feature is the one I am most excited about. New UI also looks nice. Might be time for me to upgrade.
Why do products from big companies like Apple even end up ℗ product hunt? The entire world knows this exists.
What a great improvement. I was everytime super annoyed when I had to use the on-screen keyboard for searching on Youtube or Netflix - I often wanted to throw the remote control out of the window. The new UI with its shadows, blurs and focus on content is gorgeous and I can’t wait to have one! Plus: the new app market will be a super booster.
