Shortly after Apple Maps for Web Beta dropped, Apple Podcasts is now on the web. You'd think Apple would be redoubling their efforts to lock in use of iOS and macOS, but it turns out, if you want to become an ad platform, the web is your growth oyster! Apple vs Spotify is the new Apple vs Facebook... 🍿

Great to see Apple Podcasts expanding to the web! This move is definitely a game changer for user accessibility and engagement. With listeners now able to sign in with their Apple Account, it’s a seamless experience to manage libraries and subscriptions. It looks like Apple is strategizing to enhance its growth and compete more fiercely in this space. Excited to see how this rivalry with Spotify unfolds in the coming months!

Interesting take! Do you think this move signals a shift in how Apple plans to compete with Spotify for podcasting dominance? What do you think about them expanding to the web?

It's wild to see Apple Podcasts making its way to the web! 🥳 I mean, has anyone else noticed that Apple seems to be opening up like a fresh podcast feed? The battle with Spotify is heating up, and it’s almost like we’re witnessing a tech showdown of epic proportions! With 175 countries now in play, that’s a massive audience to tap into—definitely a strategic pivot! Who knew Podcasts would be the ticket to becoming an ad platform? Curious to see how this affects listener habits. Do you think we'll see some exclusive content pop up on Apple Podcasts now that they’re expanding? Let's hope they don't forget about those who love their deep-dive shows! Can’t wait to see how this affects their KPIs in the coming months. Bring on the competition!

It's great to see Apple Podcasts making its way to the web! This move definitely expands accessibility and could be a game changer for listener engagement. The competition with Spotify is heating up – it's fascinating to watch how platforms pivot to capture more users. It feels like we're just at the beginning of a new era for audiophiles. Excited to see how Apple navigates this shift and what features they'll roll out next!

Checked it out after spotting an ad, looks like it's trying to catch up with what Spotify and Pocket Casts have been doing for a while, honestly, what's new here?👀
Sonia
This "new" feature feels like Apple just catching up to what everyone else has been doing for years, not really groundbreaking if you ask me, I mean, who wasn't expecting this already?

I get that you’re trying to make podcasts more accessible with this web version and all but I wonder how this is suppose to be better than the app especially for those who are already so used to it, isn't it kind of redundant like who really needed this update, maybe you could add some unique features here that actually takes advantage of the web platform or this might just feel like the same thing on a different screen 🙂

Why limit it to just web browsers, are there plans to integrate this with smart home devices, also will we ever see better customization options for the user interface, it's a good start but feels a bit half-baked this way
David Tomlinson
Nice idea but feels like too little too late, Apple already missed the web browser trend and there’s other options that do it better and faster. Maybe integrating more features or including third party support could make it more appealing.

Steve you've nailed it, making podcasts accessible on any device is a game changer, finally something that truly meets the needs of the modern listener, i'm a bit concerned about data privacy with yet another account sync though, but overall great move especially for those always on the go, kudos to the team for making it happen! 🚀
