Powered by the A18 Pro chip and built for Apple Intelligence, the Pro lineup introduces larger display sizes, Camera Control, innovative pro camera features, and a huge leap in battery life.
So: will this lead to a super upgrade cycle? Is there enough here for you?
I love the Camera Control — and the performance improvements seem incredible.
But ultimately, this is still an iPhone, with Apple Intelligence still vapor or location-gated.
Are you in?
Hmmm... this might be the one that gets me off of my 13 Pro Max... I'll wait for some reviews to make sure it's not all hype but looks pretty cool at first glance.
As a former engineering manager at Apple who worked on Cinematic Video and Portrait modes, I couldn't have been more excited about the new photography features! iPhone is how we capture special moments of our life with family and friends, and making the photography better is just amazing. Having said that, I'm still kinda sad we don't have better zoom on iPhone16. Anyways, I'm very excited about the new Photos app, and can't wait to try all the AI features. The private cloud is indeed keeping our privacy and I didn't excepted anything else from Apple. Also, as a person with hearing difficulties - the new audio test and graphs is amazing! this is tiny thing but for people like me it means the words.
Looks promising, but I'm not fully sold yet. The camera upgrades and performance boost are great, but I'd love to see more on the AI front. Maybe some exclusive AI features that really showcase what the A18 Pro can do? Also, it'd be cool if they expanded on the Camera Control concept for other phone functions. Still, it's a solid iteration - just hoping for more groundbreaking stuff in future releases.
I think the camera control is the most exciting feature, but I would definitely wait until they polish the AI features a bit more, and as you said, make them available world-wid
