A secure open-source backend server provides the core APIs required to build web and mobile applications. Appwrite provides authentication, database, storage, functions, and advanced realtime capabilities.
@laurieherault Thank you Laurie :)
We use MariaDB under the hood, support for MongoDB is right around the corner. Appwrite cloud is scheduled to be launched very very soon, you can apply for free credits from here - https://appwrite.io/cloud
@jake_barnby1@manas_sharma Oh yeah, we love how much feedback we can get while iterating through our releases. It's a lot less risk when we make product decisions because we can get so much feedback so quickly!
@leetwito Honestly, this is our first big step in launching something that firebase can't do at all, albeit experimental.
AFAIK, Firebase still has no support for GraphQL. We're not just gonna create Firebase 1-1 again, we want to make Appwrite a uniquely competitive tool in its own right :)

Hi there, itβs Jake from the Appwrite team π
Integrating with APIs can be frustrating, and we wanted to change that. With Appwrite, we aim to meet developers where they feel comfortable and give them the flexibility to choose the approach that works best for them.
That's why we're excited to introduce GraphQL as a Service, a new way to use Appwrite. Able to be used alongside or instead of the existing REST and Realtime APIs, the new GraphQL API offers full support for authentication, databases, functions, and storage, giving developers the power to build, create, and innovate with ease.
We hope that Appwrite not only provides a seamless experience for integrating with APIs, but also has a positive impact on developers. By using our platform, developers may feel a sense of accomplishment and confidence in their abilities.
If you're tired of struggling with API integration, we encourage you to give Appwrite a try. We believe it will give you the freedom to focus on what matters most: creating amazing products that make a difference.
We have big plans for Appwrite and are always working towards new features with our community of over 700 open-source contributors. We hope you'll join us in the Appwrite community, weβd love to hear what you think!

@jake_barnby1 It's great to see a focus on ease of use and flexibility for developers, and the support for a range of features like authentication, databases, and storage is impressive. Keep up the excellent work!
