Hi everyone, I'm Dragos, the founder of Archbee.io Super excited to share version 2 with you 😊 Though not intentional, it became a versatile tool. People are using it for team wikis, knowledge bases, developer & API doc sites, and even personal notes! What's neat about it? 👩‍🎨 Completely redesigned for a better user experience ✍️ Editor with realtime Markdown conversion (check it out in the gifs above) 🔦 Inline comments and mentioning team members ⌬ 20+ custom blocks: list, checklist, table, callout, minitask, file, image, video, map, multilanguage code editor, diagram, Mermaid.js, api endpoint, Swagger/Open API, GraphQL, changelog, HTML iframe 🗂 Doc tree hierarchy similar to Notion for great content structuring 🌎 Doc sites with custom domain like with GitBook or ReadMe, hosting and SSL 🎨 The sites are fully customizable with custom JS, CSS, HTML 🛡 The sites can be public, password-protected, guest account protected, or using JWT for automatic auth for your users 🔌 25+ integrations: Slack, Figma, Airtable, Loom, Codepen, Github Gist, Trello, Lucidchart, Typeform, Miro, Google Docs to name a few 🖥 Native apps for desktop are available and mobile ones coming Q2 2021 💰 Bang-for-the-buck pricing Since the launch of our very early (and buggy 🥶) 1.0, we've been talking to customers and hammering at the product, deploying updates every single day, with an avg of 1.4 times per day. For the techies in here. Our tech stack is TypeScript (strict), React, Next.js, Node.js, MySQL, Elasticsearch, DynamoDB, Redis, S3, Cloudfront and everything runs in AWS (ElasticBeanstalk + ECS Fargate + hosted dbs). Fun fact: I've been building this thing by myself for more than 1 year now, and @paul_nica has recently joined to help with marketing, so we're a TINY team. But as you'll see if you try the product, we pack a punch. 🤩🤩🤩🤩 Stoked to hear your input, leave it down below! EDIT: Use code product-hunt-2020 at checkout for 10% off forever

Probably one of the best writing experiences I’ve had in a long time! Archbee is becoming one of my favorite tools to create logs and document about my company. Dragos is a super responsive founder and open to feedbacks. Three things I like the most: 1 - How easy is to put Archbee on a subdomain 2 - Highlight a sentence with a cursor to comment 3 - Tagging users right on text can turn it in a small task manager without needing to rely on another Task tool when generating content on it
Dragos Bulugean
@tayshiro thanks! what do you think we can improve?
Tayshiro Kudo
@dragos_bulugean being able to add doc by forms and add upvotes (by cookie or ip) to docs would be awesome as well. For now I'm currently checking everything =) Smooth experience

Archbee is awesome. It’s a really flexible platform. Since I started using it a few months ago, I’ve created wikis, notes, meeting minutes, to do lists, etc. I love how fast it is compared to other apps I’ve used in the past, and it supports markdown and the editor is fantastic. So writing there is a real pleasure.
Dragos Bulugean
@luispw thanks for the love. We'd also love to hear what can improve upon :)

Hey @dragos_bulugean! Of course, there’s always room for improvement! There are 3 things I’d improve: 1) As I mentioned on Facebook, I’d love to see Zapier and Pabbly Connect integrations soon, especially to provide access to protected content. 2) Also, in the editor, I’d improve the color picker, especially for bold text. 3) And finally, it would be nice to have a bit more control over the look and feel of the pages and workspaces. Maybe more options to customise header, font, logo, etc. But still, I’m extremely happy with Archbee. 🙂

Hey thats cool. Could you please highlight what is the difference between Archbee and Notion - many people would ask that first if I tell them about Archbee
Dragos Bulugean
@vlad_korobov yep. There is some overlap in usecases (e.g. team wiki), and some UX patterns are very similar, but that's about it. What's very different: 1. Archbee is more focused on technical audiences: developers (apidocs, diagrams, markdown, Mermaid.js, changelogs), technical writers and SaaS 2. Archbee provides hosting for collections of docs (which AFAIK Notion does not) 3. We're a very small team and are focused on 1 thing only: documentation. Notion is an all-in-one tool that tries to do Project Management and Data with their tables. 4. We're a very simple solution UX wise: Notion is super complex (that can be a really good thing in some cases) Humbled people compare us with Notion: they have a great team, product, and great funding!
Vlad Korobov
@vlad_korobov @dragos_bulugean Thank you for such clarification. Very helpful. Another often issues comes up is that developers would like to have their docs in their repos. Is there a way you address that? For example regular daily backup somehow or sync with a file system?
Dragos Bulugean
@vlad_korobov @dragos_bulugean we've been asked to propagate changes to Git systems, might happen :)
Christoph Aufmhoff
We use it for code documentation for customers and it's the perfect addition to inline code comments. Lightning fast easy to use and removes knowledge silos in a breeze. Highly recommend for smaller and medium sized teams and companies, that want a fast, searchable and clean documentation tool with endless possibilities!
Dragos Bulugean
@christoph_aufmhoff you guys have been a really great source of feedback since becoming a customer. Super happy to have you in the platform :)
Andrian Valeanu
Congratulation on this new release! The second version is packed with more features, excited to see native apps for desktop.
Paul Nica
@andrianv we really appreciate the support!
Dragos Bulugean
@andrianv thanks, native apps are available already :) https://download.archbee.io
Carsten Schaefer
love this tool. I will switch to it for our API documenation and dev wiki.
Dragos Bulugean
@crowdy_ai we'll be there for feedback, Carsten :)
Ivona Raef
congrats, keep up the good work!! :)
Dragos Bulugean
@ivona_raef thank you so much :) have you tried it?
Ivona Raef
@dragos_bulugean Yes, I did, it looks impressive. Will refer it to the technical team for further analysis.
Jacek Synowiec
Version 2.0 is an amazing improvement over version 1.0. I still miss public comments on documents, document export to .docx, RSS feed from new entries, automation (Zapier, IFTTT, Piesync ...), API, import from Notion, Evernote and the possibility of translating the interface into other language versions. But there are already a lot of changes towards good.
Dragos Bulugean
@jaceksynowiec so much to build, true :). hopefully we can move faster in the future :)
Carsten Lebtig
We (team of 15) are using Archbee for 4-5 months now and are a big fan. One of the main differentiating features for us is that we can share documentation externally as well.
Dragos Bulugean
@carsten_lebtig thanks Carsten. your team was an amazing input, and will be more so as you grow hopefully :)

Dragos, congratulations on the launch! Curious tho, if I am currently on Notion, what does Archbee offer that would be a differentiator? They seem/feel similar but maybe there are something I cannot see that would make me switch.
Dragos Bulugean

One of the best documentation management solutions I have found. Whether creating an internal wiki, or public-facing documentation Archbee can fit your needs. Their client is intuitive and provides innumerable degrees of flexibility. Whether you're a SaaS, on-prem solution, or just have a project you need to publish documentation on, Archbee can absolutely fit your needs. Working with the team at Archbee, @dragos_bulugean has been attentive to all of our needs and requirements.
Dragos Bulugean
@dragos_bulugean @devon_lawler thanks so much Devon! To everybody, Epsagon is a great solution for observability, we're switching over when we move to Lambda. Devon and the team are very close to AWS team, they told us about containers in Lambda way before they got released by AWS last week!
Karen Nguyen
Been looking for a solution to easily share documentation internally and externally, and an alternative to Confluence, so planning to give this a try. Congratulations on the launch!
Dragos Bulugean
@karen_nguyen2 looking forward to your feedback Karen!
Paul Nica
@karen_nguyen2 that's awesome, tell us what you think after you try it!
Max Prilutskiy
That's dope! 💯
Paul Nica
@prilutskiy we love Typeform as well 👏
Dragos Bulugean
@prilutskiy we love typeform and our customers do too, we have integration: https://www.archbee.io/integrati...
Vladimír Seman
400th upvote 👍, it is my honor to upvote such useful app!
Paul Nica
@vladojsem imagine if you would've been our 404th upvote, we would've been scared :D
Timothy Fong
So far I like it, a great alternative to Confluence. Only two people, that’s amazing.
Dragos Bulugean
@timothy_fong thanks so much! we plan to grow a bit on the team side, but not much :)
Timothy Fong
@timothy_fong @dragos_bulugean Do you have plans of making it easier to cross link? For example, in Confluence I can select text to hyperlink and then get autocomplete / type -ahead links to all other pages
Dragos Bulugean
@timothy_fong @dragos_bulugean should work by typing @ and get the autocoplete :)
Phill Duffy
I've been using Archbee for a little while. I really just love how simple it is, but powerful. I started off trying to build my own platform using some static generators, it just wasn't worth the effort and I would not have got all the integrations Great effort team, looking forward to seeing the continued awesome journey of Archbee
Dragos Bulugean
@phill_duffy thanks Phill, you are an amazing user & customer :)
Radu-Sebastian Amarie (Eek)
Nice! I just signed up! I like the looks, it's really sleek, it also seems quite feature-full :D Collaboration / Integrations / even Referrals, nice! Good job! I also have a suggestion and a bug report :D The suggestion would be to be able to exit modals by clicking outside not only on the X button. And the bug is - When I'm usually changing or styling a paragraph, I'm used to triple clicking on a word of that paragraph. If I do that, it selects the whole paragraph, but when I try to style it (like bold it) it only styles the word I've clicked to select the whole paragraph :D Otherwise selecting works fine. keep up the good work!
Dragos Bulugean
@eek thanks Radu, will will fix soon, and hope we'll be getting more awesome input from you :)
Kiran N
Archbee.io is one my favorite tool in my agency! Must have tool if you want to document all your process and other resources in one place!
Dragos Bulugean
@kiran_grafix 😃 more integrations are coming for agencies :)
Andrey A.
Archbee is gonna be helpful to anyone who's looking for a straightforward, yet versatile internal/external documentation tool. Tons of hidden gems in the product, super talented founder/author, a tool build with meticulous attention to what the documentation folks really want. Expect some really friendly support process too, just in case. Last but not least, really grateful to have an opportunity to help with certain aspects of the company/product. Check it out!
Dragos Bulugean
@aaleks808 super thanks for everything :) Everybody, Andrey is our advisor and has been guiding, giving me great product advice and keeping me in check whenever I want to drift and do stupid stuff :) We also use nginx hugely famous tech that he has founded!
