I've used the early version of Around and this looks like an exciting update. I think it could be a game-changer for those of us looking at a hybrid IRL / remote work future. But @garrytan I have to ask - everyone in the video that was introduced with some context EXCEPT Margo!?! There's "Tom from Around, Margo, Dom, CEO from Around, and my friend Ryan Hoover." Does Margo also work at Around? (I assume she does and probably plays an impt role) Why leave her out and mention everyone else? I am sure it's a great product and congrats to the whole team.

@natangelillo yes she also works at Around. Sorry we had 20 minutes to film this so I made a mistake. I am also not a professional actor.
@garrytan All good, just doing my part to hold people accountable for giving credit/equal treatment to the females in the room. Easy to make an unintentional mistake when you are moving that fast:-)

I am so blown away by Around. The early-adoption is seamless and the UI is incredible. We're definitely adopting this for our team at Basewell. Can't wait to host more video calls with Around 2.0!

Did you guys remove the feature where you used head tracking to keep the face constantly in the center of the circles? Tried the app a few weeks ago and missed this from your previous demos.

@around @dominikbalogh Hi Dominik. I meant to update this comment actually, since I noticed that it really is there - just like you say, however it's orders of magnitude slower than in the examples on the website. Don't know if that's by design or just a temporary thing, but it's something both me and my teammate experienced.
@around @andreekeberg That's helpful feedback! We've definitely had to adjust the level of zooming because we received other feedback that it could be too much/too quick for some viewers, however, we are working on a solution for this long-term.

I’ve used it daily for a few weeks and can only say that it is really awesome. Audio is good, but for me the best feature are the persistant rooms.

Here's how we think about it: Zoom is meant for more traditional, "conference-room" type meetings, while Around is what you'd use with your team to get work done together. We're designed specifically for collaboration with an unobtrusive, lightweight interface that floats on top of your desktop, freeing up your screen for things like code reviews, design sessions or ad-hoc syncs.

@tomas_ondrejka @dominikbalogh love this idea. Traditional web conferences aren't set up for creative collaboration - this sounds like you're heading in the right direction.
We've been using Around for the past few weeks in our company and we all love it. One feature that we love in Around is the collaborative meeting notes. We use that for almost every meeting. Also the rooms feature is super useful! I hate having to look for links all the times, and the room feature makes it super easy

- Mobile app for iOS and Android (with background noise so quiet people have no idea you’re out for a walk)
- A shiny new Linux version (for all the devs out there)
- Other highly requested features (e.g. Google Calendar integration)
- Enhanced audio quality, noise suppression, and EchoTerminator performance
- More servers in Europe, Asia and the Americas to support ongoing growth
- Hiring more brilliant people to accelerate feature development
And we've got some other features cooking that we won't lift the lid on quite yet 😺
This is a really cool take on video conferencing. It felt fun and the auto-focusing and noise cancellation tech are really nice and solve two really painful points of video conferencing. The automated notes email is also a really nice automation of a typical followup email that someone at the meeting would be responsible for in the past.
On a critical note I did feel the website landing page really distracting and not nearly as compelling as it could be. Garry's pitch in the video here, with everyone in the same room having a conference call and chatting, is so much more compelling IMHO. Echo in tele-conferencing is a huge pain point. Feels like you're burying the lede.
But still this is amazing work, very cool, and much needed.
