Tried the app today. Slack, the calendar and bot are really useful. However, not switching from Mailspring until the interface changes. The type is too big at places and overall didn't like the look and feel of my Inbox.

I switched to Astro this fall for all of my email and love it. I was initially surprised by how much I liked the chatbot, and with this update, it’s won me over even more. Also really excited about the addition of Calendar. Makes it a lot easier than switching between apps to figure out what’s going on in my day. Congrats to the team on the huge update!

Quite possibly the smoothest email experience 😃

Love the update guys, and have moved over from a paid sub to Newton app. Calendar is a superb addition but it has to have one tap on address to bring into Google/Apple maps or Waze. Also would like colours on different email account while in all accounts 🙏🏻🙏🏻👍🏻👍🏻 @apflaum @astroapp

Dear @microsoft/@google, Please don't buy this company and fuck it up too. (Now that they have a calendar) I've come to like Astro more than, Sunrise &TImeful

@microsoft @google @wipadika and then it happens. I liked you too much Astro, and now you die the corporate death. Hope the founders at least made good money. Sad to see you go. I now have trust issues with commitment to Calendar & Mail apps

Having no support for IMAP basically disqualifies this app for me, as I use FastMail for all workplace needs. G Suite/Office aren't the only players, you know, despite being in majority.

Pros:

AI, best in class UI and UX, calendar is awesome.

Cons:

No IMAP support, only G Suite and Office 365.

woah....i'm 100% impressed with astro. being cross-platform (including android AND iOS) this early on in the game is what attracted me to try it out. i finally had settled on Spark until i found astro a few weeks ago. it does everything i loved about Spark, but then adds this AI bot that i didn't know i needed. it's actually super useful. On top of all this, the design is top-notch!

Been using Astro for months and I absolutely love it. The key for me is reliability and for me, Astro has the most of it. Stay true to your core and continue to make a solid and STABLE product.

Great product!!! Keep it up! It would be great if we can add icloud accounts. Thanks!

This has huge potential but there are some things that stop me using it... - No option to turn off conversation view. I'm not sure if this is just me but I hate conversation view. I feel messages get lost and Astro's conversation view is not intuitive to me (collapsing messages etc) - No option to reply to the default address an email was sent to. I get an email to my work inbox and hit reply, it uses my personal address :( - No option to view all my accounts in the sidebar as their own thing. I can view either one at a time or everything merged together. I don't like combining multiple inboxes into one view and heavily rely on labels which become hidden when viewing all accounts. If I have an inbox selected, I have no visibility of the other accounts. - I would love an option to just use the calendar or the inbox. Right now I can't leave airmail until the inbox things mentioned above are available but I love the calendar view. That being said, the app is lovely, well designed and the bot integration is interesting. I just look for more options like explained above. It's my most used app so flexibility is so important.

Seems interesting, just had a concern, why it's free? how are you guys making profit?
Ammar Alakkad
@tafkaf I couldn't find it, can you elaborate more or give me a keyword to search for it?
Eugene Kruglov
Do I understand it right there is no IMAP support in Mac app?
Emily Kramer
@tahorg Not currently, just Office 365 and Gmail.

I've been using Astro on and off for about a year now. I use it on mobile far more than desktop. It has all the standard features you'd expect out of a modern email app (snoozing, follow-ups, etc). I mainly like it because it nudges better behavior in my emails. The "would you like to make ___ a VIP?" is my most frequently used nudge, the daily roll-ups are informative, and the read receipts come in very handy. Overall I like that it has a distinct look and feel without compromising usability or reliability.

Pros:

Fast, fluid, easy, solid, reliable, has personality

Cons:

I don't embrace the bot as much as i should, so that's on me

We've made using Astrobot a lot easier, by breaking out Insights and putting suggestion cards for Ask Astrobot commands. Hope this helps you get more use out of it! And thanks for the comment.

@mentions @mention @apflaum I've been really happy with the beta of Astro 3. There is room for improvement on making calendar events (and invites in particular) better, but I'm excited about the integration.

@apflaum Google Assistant support in the pipeline? Also, does Signatures sync, finally across platforms/ apps? 🤔
@Bernardamus
@apflaum compliments for the update, I just have a bullet point in my wishlist: what about Canned Responses?
@Bernardamus
@apflaum is it possible to connect the Facebook calendar too? To get a full overview of my events...
Anthony Lee
Very nice. Very nice.
Tarun Gangwani
Astro is my favorite e-mail app. The performance of the app is fantastic, the sync works well and the little suggestions for VIPs and decluttering of my inbox is superb. Calendar integration is a huge +1 from me. It synced my events very well. My only concern is notes from the organizer are unviewable, meaning any video call information doesn't show up. My previous favorite app for meetings also pulled in the dial in info, allowing me to one click start a meeting. Surely an AI capable calendar would do such a function... Great work!

@tarungangwani Thank you! Please keep the feedback coming, we really appreciate it. Also we're in the running for the Product Hunt Mobile App of the Year, and would love your upvote on it :-) https://www.producthunt.com/post...
Maddy Klein
@tarungangwani Thanks for your feedback! I just tested this, and notes from the organizer are both viewable in the invite and once the calendar event is accepted. Would you mind providing more details to support@helloastro.com? We'd love to help troubleshoot.
Lyondhür Picciarelli
No iCloud support. No IMAP support. Not a real full email client. Yet. By the way, the "not yet supported" ambiguity has been said since the beginning of Astro. I'd be happier if they were not unclear anymore and simply said "we won't support it". Then users like myself wouldn't waste time expecting it..
Maddy Klein
@lyondhur We do plan to support additional services such as iCloud, Outlook.com, Hotmail, Yahoo Mail and FastMail, although our timing is uncertain, as our first priorities are the business email services, Gmail/GSuite and Office 365. And to be fair in terms of expectations, I wouldn't say our delivery of this would be very soon. You can read more details here in our FAQs, https://help.helloastro.com/acco... and meantime I've added your 'vote' for this in our feature-request database. Please feel free to let us know if you have any additional feedback or questions.
Lyondhür Picciarelli
@maddysklein you have been saying the exact same thing since astro went up online for the first time. Sorry guys, I need more and I'm no longer buying it. I've been with the competition for a while and am not seeing you on the landscape anymore. For me, wrong strategy to promise/commit to something without a deadline.. over and out.
Ian Gray

I really like this as it makes me think that I am actually getting through emails and I am actively finding ways to reduce the bulk of things I don't look at anymore.

Pros:

Multiple accounts, calendar addition is great, actionable unsubscribes, VIP contacts and a whole heap more.

Cons:

none as yet

Jamie Samuel
I've tried this app for a couple days now and although I see great potential there are still a few things I'd like to see before I can fully switch over. When using a work email address, all of my colleagues calanders are synced and I cannot untick them all as the list is too short. No Windows app. Any idea of when this will be coming? Would you ever consider making a web client for desktop?
Micah Baldwin
I've been using Astro as my primary email for quite awhile now. Fast iterations, solid interface, etc. I do love the Alexa integration, and tend to use it frequently. Still trying to figure out how to use the conversational interface effectively, but I think that is more that I am old, than it isnt helpful.
Emily Kramer
@micah We hope you try out Astrobot again, we've added a lot of new commands and made them much easier to discover.
