Love the interactive part on this page! What tool did you use to make it? And, of course, congratulations on your launch! Great mission!
Fredrik Moger
@memphys_sk Thanks Stefans! The interactive demo is built using https://www.arcade.software/
German Syroezhkin
Congratulations on the launch! How does it handle real-time data updates in collaborative projects?
Fredrik Moger
@laocool Thanks๐Ÿš€๐Ÿš€ When editing an individual feature, your colleagues won't see the changes until you exit the feature.

Atlas? More like ATLAST! Oh boy, if this aint the future i dont want to be a part of it!
Felix Scholz
Awesome idea! As someone who worked with GIS data previously, a collaborative solution would have saved me a lot of time!
Vegard Lรธwe
Thank you, @fscholz! ๐Ÿ˜Š Glad to hear
Marius Hofgaard
@fscholz Great! It is super to see how aligned teams are when using the collaboration functionality
Walter Tay
Hey Vegard this is really cool! I'm not really in the GIS space but was wondering how Atlas compares to Google Earth if you don't mind me asking?
Fredrik Moger
@waltertay Great question! Google Earth is mainly used to view geospatial data, while Atlas allows you to manage, manipulate, analyze, and view the data. You can have a look at this project to get a feel of what you can build with Atlas: https://app.atlas.co/projects/Ru...
Walter Tay
@fredrik_moger Wow this is extremely cool! Didn't know Germany had so much solar power. Really cool visualization tool for map data!

Has to be the most thrilling launch since Jobs announced the iPhone
Jack Rowland
So awesome that you guys have a collaborative GIS platform. Can you upload information from other GIS Tools? How does the data integration of other mapping tools work?
Fredrik Moger
@jack_rowland1 Thanks!! We support all the common formats for both vector and raster data. Feel free to upload .geojson, .shp, .kml, .csv, .geotiff +++ Additionally, we've integrated a query builder for OpenStreetMap and some other data sources. You can check it out for free at https://app.atlas.co/
Ana Mouratidou
This is pretty cool! Love anything to do with maps. Where did the idea come from?
Fredrik Moger
@theanamoura by using today's software. They are kind of clunky

@tilljoel Absolutely! Thank you Joel!

Just played around with it! Its definitely powerful and I like the straight forward map making. But there are a few hurdles that are not as easy to overcome for laypeople that don't often work with GIS or any other spatial data. For example: If I just want to draw a few polygons and extrude them with the height parameter, that doesn't seem to work without any data to draw from. Would love an option to just use the height property on all polygons, even those without a dataset (basically naked shapes). Also: The community maps showcase some neat 3D view angle out of the box, but embedding a map myself doesn't make it easy to understand how to achieve that. Even though its one of the community maps. But I'll definitely keep an eye out for new updates! Its a great alternative to Felt and other Mapmaking tools.
Fredrik Moger
@timwldn Thanks for the feedback Tim! Totally agree with you.
Marius Hofgaard
@timwldn Interesting! Let me know if you would be interested in a short call, as we are very keen on removing any hurdles!
