A few months ago, a couple of Sales Development Reps (SDRs) joined our team at Autoklose.
They all seemed like great hires (which they were).
But, things didnβt pan out the way I planned.
Some of the SDRs were well-versed reps and the others, though with a great attitude and set of values, were still wet behind the ears.
There was a huge gap between them in terms of experience and vocabulary.
Communication was painfully slow. Sometimes I felt as if we spoke different languages.
We identified the problem and one of the most trivial things showed up in 360 FDBK meetings.
Our failure to cover sales terms & abbreviations in our onboarding process snowballed into a big issue.
Yes, you read that correctly.
Something as minor as βSDRβ, βBABβ or βAPIβ stood in the way of our effective teamwork.
But no matter how short these words are, they seemed huge and incomprehensible to our noob SDRs.
