This is nice. A great use case for furniture. I remember spending months with a 3D artist to get models, lighting etc just right back when we were working on hem.com

This is truly awesome and I was really looking for something like this, but I have several questions:

1. Does it work for any type of product ?
2. Do images need to be in a certain format in order for the conversion from 2d to 3d to work?
3. Are the product dimensions in AR relevant to the real product dimensions?
4. Is there an API created that can be used for custom apps or only it works for those ecommerce platforms ?

Glad you liked the product.
Avataar is agnostic of product category. We've seen significant sales conversion increase in categories like Furniture, Consumer Electronics & Durables, Computer & Audio, Outdoor Living, Fitness & Sports, and Kitchenware.
We use the existing 2D Images from the Product Detail Page(PDP) on your e-store/website. We just need 4-5 images(JPEG or PNG format) covering the 360 degrees of the product to ensure we don't miss out on details in the 3D model.
The 3D model is built to scale as per the dimensions of the actual product.
Avataar is currently available for stores on Shopify & BigCommerce.
