Hey Product Hunters! Bumped to be featured on Product Hunt today! We built Awario Leads to help entrepreneurs, marketers, and sales professionals unleash the power of social media to find new customers and early adopters for your business. Awario Leads' approach to prospecting is different from what you're probably used to. The setup is very simple: the tool will ask you for product descriptions (2- or 3-word phrases describing your product) and the names of your competitors. Awario will then search through Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, Google+ and other social media of your choice for mentions of those keywords. Finally, the tool will filter the results using predictive insights to find posts where people are looking for recommendations on a product like yours, and those who are complaining about a competitor and looking for an alternative. As a result, you get a personalized social media feed full of potential customers that self-updates in near real time, with an opportunity to engage with the posts right from Awario. Check Awario Leads out, feel free to ask me anything below, and please help us spread the love! P.S.: If you need a hand with your Leads setup, use the little chat in the bottom right corner and let our Support team know what your business does. We'll be thrilled to help you with setting everything up.

@ab80 congrats on the release. Is it possible to add websites to crawl that you don’t currently?
Aleh Barysevich
@kensavage thanks Ken! While we don't have a 'list' of sites we crawl (it's quite literally every site we can find online), there are some exceptions - in particular, sites restricted from crawling by robots.txt. So unless the site you're looking to search is restricted from crawlers, we should pick up mentions from it soon. That said, we've just released something called the Whitelist - a list of pages to crawl as a priority for any given alert. Currently it only supports Facebook pages, but we'll be adding other data sources, including the web, as we go.

I've tried Awario Leads and can only say it does an amazing job for finding new prospects on social media and across the Web. Lots of filters help sieve through the results and focus on the most relevant posts only. I would definitely recommend this product to marketing managers, social media managers, brand reputation specialists and literally everyone who's keen to win more contracts :)
Aleh Barysevich
@inessa_bokhan thanks a ton for your feedback Inessa :) Happy to hear you're getting value from Awario!
Alin B
Personally, Awario is one of the few marketing tools I love using. Great UI/UX and being a start-up, we never missed one mention so far. Leads was a missing but now avaialble feature. Highly recommend! P.S. - Also great blog posts from their newsletter
Aleh Barysevich
@sk_dub thanks for the kind words Alin! I'll be passing your feedback on the blog to Alina, our blog editor :)
Alessio Fanelli
This looks great Aleh, any preferred email that I can reach you at?
Niloufer Tamboly
The Awario team keeps making the product better. With the introduction of Leads Awario becomes a must have tool and certainly worth the monthly subscription. All the best Aleh.
Aleh Barysevich
@ntamboly thanks a ton Niloufer!

I just started using this today. The UI is easy to use and very intuitive. It definitely works better than other tools I've used. It's very good at figuring out who would be in your target audience and serving up content from them. It's search and retrieval algos are pretty accurate. Nothing that I really dislike about it. But of course it's still social marketing, which is hit or miss pretty much no matter how great the tool is. If I generated 1 sale/mo from it tho it would have a positive ROI. So that will be the real tell as to whether the $29/mo is justified for my business. We'll see.
Aleh Barysevich
@kantjungrand thanks for the feedback Eric. Would love to hear your thoughts after a month or so of usage.
Dave Poly

This looks awesome, congrats on the launch! Have you considered including reviews in Awario? We recently launched a Review Scraper API that could make that very easy: https://www.producthunt.com/post... :)
Aleh Barysevich
@philip_kallberg hey Philip, thanks, will check it out!
Gonzalo Morales
Just tried it and I love it. Very helpful idea. Will have to keep using it to see what could be improved, but so far, nothing to object!
Aleh Barysevich
@gonzalo_morales thanks. Do share your thoughts once you've tried it out!

I still find that searches often provide too wide a range of results and that there's a lot of effort required to get relevant leads. Having said that, through use of the system, we were alerted to an issue with a product provider on whom we were conducting due-diligence prior to signing a distribution agreement. Some weeks later they filed for bankruptcy.

This alone saved us so much, not just in terms of time and money, but on potentially negative PR and reputational risk as well. Without Awario we would never had become aware of this issue.

Pros:

We had one set of results which proved invaluable in giving advance warning of an issue with a potential product provider -a real life-saver

Cons:

Takes time and effort to create relevant and properly focussed searches

I purchased Awario from AppSumo back in February. I knew the tool wasn't yet perfect, but I saw huge potential in it, and I trusted the developers* to live up to that potential. So far, so good. They continue to improve existing features, and add new ones.

Awario is a very powerful tool that will help virtually any business in multiple areas. You can monitor your own and/or your competitors, find leads (including for people doing affiliate marketing), and use it for good, old fashioned content promotion (I've found dozens of sites to promote my articles on).

All in all, it paid for itself after only a week. Money well spent, I'd say.

*I've used SEO PowerSuite, developed by the same team as Awario, for years now, and know it's a great set of tools that are constantly adding useful new features.

Pros:

Great Value (far more affordable than similar SaaS)

Huge Potential (brand monitoring, finding leads, content promotion, etc.)

Cons:

Learning Curve to Fine-Tuning Alerts (takes time to get a good noise-to-signal balance with mentions)

Great work from Awario team who always listen to the customers and keep improving their product!

Pros:

- Easy to Use

- Great Support team

Cons:

Not really cons but it takes time to filter those results you don't want and put them into blacklist

Used Awario close to a month as we were exploring different media monitoring solutions. When Leads launched, they graciously gave us an extended trial.

Eventually, we didn't go with Awario because we saw a better hitrate for mentions on a competing service (admittedly much more expensive). The Awario Leads feature was so interesting, that we replicated it using some rather complicated boolean queries in the new service. Had to tweak our current setup quite extensively to have it work like Awario Leads did out of the box.

If we were earlier stage or had a tighter budget to work with, Awario would've probably been my first choice: It gave us 85-90ish % of the hits for less than 1/3 of the price of our current service.

Pros:

Low effort, great ROI

Cons:

Hitrate on mentions seems lower than for other (more expensive) services

Birma Khan
Looks very promising, found lots of promising prospects and potential leads (even a bit more than I could handle today), plus the ability to track your competitors is really cool - this is how you can track all your competitors' activities in one place without even having to do anything. Customizable Slack integration would be really helpful though (or did I just miss is)?
Aleh Barysevich
@birma_khan thanks Birma. A Slack integration is on the roadmap and should be out in the nearest months!

I use Awario to find new leads for my business every week. It's an invaluable and very affordable tool for doing this. Highly recommended.

Pros:

Great product with great support team

Cons:

None for me.

Safwan Beretta

Aleh Barysevich
@safwanberetta thanks Safwan, please let me know what you think once you do!
Papaharana Duferie
Which social networks does this work for?
Aleh Barysevich
@pduferie Awario currently searches for posts on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Reddit, Google+ and the web at large (including forums, news sites, and blogs). We're also working on adding Instagram which should be out within 2 months.
Aelia Gower

I've been using the starter level. Not really impressive from what I can see- there are better options out there. Their upgrades may be better, can't tell for sure. Tried upgrading, but got into a weird customer support loop and have never got out of it. I paid for an upgrade on a deal, but that communication was lost somehow. So, I can't access what I paid for.

Summary: MAY be an OK service. Strange customer support a real turn off. When renting a SaaS, you want to make sure you are taken care of, not being caught in customer service purgatory.

Pros:

Cheap alternative to better systems

Cons:

Strange customer service experience, service doesn't really do the job from what I can see, at least at the lower levels.
