Hello Product Hunt! 👋
Raymond here. Co-founder of Banter. We’ve been working on Banter as a side project, it’s a way for remote teams to get to know each other better on Slack. After fixing a ton of bugs and working with our customers adding request features, I’m finally sharing it to PH!
Banter’s been lucky enough to grace the teams of companies such as Superhuman, Apple, Starbucks, Mixpanel, Bytedance, Adobe, Ubisoft and others. Over 30,000 team members are actively Bantering.
What’s Banter?
Banter sparks spontaneous group conversations that would randomly happen IRL. It's asynchronous, automated, and the topics are diverse to encourage every team member to talk about things they love.

Why Banter?
There are a bunch of social slack apps, here's where Banter fits in.
1. 😎 We're focused on chill socialization. Just group chats, no high attention 1:1s, no spotlights, no DMs. Low pressure social settings are where friendships are built. Anyone can share if they want to, or just read if they don't.
2. 🧠 Quality ice breakers, it's the only thing we're doing. We're constantly, adding, editing and pruning our prompts to maximize fun and novelty. Ice breakers are work safe by default.
3. ✨ New features constantly being added. To make Banter even more fun, we’re constantly thinking of new ways for Banter to add some fun and joy into Slack. For example, Banter will soon be able to tell you jokes in Slack on demand.
You can get your 30-day free trial and try Banter for yourself.

I’m excited to hear what everyone thinks! I’d love to get feedback and learn how I can take Banter to the next level. Feel free to leave a comment or email me. Don’t have any feedback? All good, answer me this instead:
Knock me over, and I become everything.
Cut me in half, and I become nothing.
What am I?
This is interesting. We have a channel in our Slack, where once a week someone will start up a random conversation, tell a joke, etc.. which helps us have a "water cooler conversation" and our team has remarked that everyone loves it. Regrettably, the person who kept it up is no longer with us, so it's been a little less frequent. I see this app having utility, though I wonder, if people will be less likely to interact with it because it's not curated by a member of the team.
@ameer_bacchus Hey Ameer! With Banter you can have someone curate the messages in advance, or at least edit the ones we have. I think our conversation starters are pretty good, you should check em out!
