Nearly two years ago we launched our original dunning solution for SaaS companies. In that time we’ve recovered millions of dollars for businesses, helping them not only serve their customers better but also grow their business more efficiently.
We’ve taken what we’ve learned over the past two years and supercharged it to help our customers recover and retain a heck of a lot more money.
The new Baremetrics Recover product now gives you 3 major ways to recover failed charges.
Billing Forms
With our hosted and in-app payment forms your customers can update their billing info in seconds, increasing retention and making you more money.
Dunning Emails
With our series of automated and perfectly timed emails, your customers will have every opportunity (and regular reminders) to update their billing info so you retain more money! Using our payment collection forms, your customers can even update their billing info without needing to login to your app!
In-App Messages & Payment Forms
Using an in-app warning banner and app-takeovers, you can both warn and then block app access when a customer’s payment starts failing. They can then update their billing right on the spot without needing to load another page. All with very little set up!
Your business is leaking money every month to failed payments. Plug that leak using Recover with automated emails, payment collection forms and in-app messages!

Great feature to add. Although, hopefully it won't be needed in the future as much. The account updater functionality from Braintree and Amazon Pay are a huge help to reducing churn by updating credit cards automatically when a bank issues a new card :)
Oh, this makes a tonne of sense to integrate into Baremetrics. And thankfully it's marketed primarily as a "recovery" not a "retention" solution.
There's quite a few dunning solutions available but many of them market themselves as "reducing churn". I think this is misleading as people don't cancel valuable services just because their credit card expired. In reality, their credit card expiring is just an opportunity to cancel a service they'd mentally abandoned months ago. Something Des Traynor calls "Zombie revenue"
Anyway, rant over. Glad Baremetrics took the honest approach.
I wonder @shpigford, if hosted subscription billing/management is Baremetrics next step… ;-) I gather the payment form are just for updating the current Stripe card? Not the plan itself?
@ideasasylum Thanks Jamie! The naming and focus on "recovering" vs "retaining" was intentional as we've found failing payments is really more of a logistical/business process issue and not one of "helping customers succeed" (which is what I believe retention is more about).
And yeah, the payment forms are for updating the card on file as opposed to billing management. At least for now. ;)
Congrats on the launch Josh! Looks very neat and it totally makes sense to accommodate this within Baremetrics. Is there any additional pricing? Or is it included in your Baremetrics plans?
We've been Baremetrics customers since the early pickle days and love the commitment Josh and the team has to making their product better every day. We actually switched to the Dunning product a few months ago and the results 100% outperformed our previous tool. Congrats on this update. We're excited to roll it out!
Another great feature for Baremetrics. This is worth its weight in gold for startups that don't have the time to be chasing failed payments all day. Thanks @shpigford and the team!
