I like the app, ive seen it when it was in beta, but once it went live I didnt get it. 15$ is just waaay to much for me personally.

Can't believe this wasn't hunted yet. A must for every Mac I own. It's easy for the menu bar to get crowded but Bartender keeps it nice and clean. It's something really simple that brings a lot of joy. Even just being able to re-arrange the order of items in the menu bar makes me feel better about my workspace.

@eric3000 One of the first apps I install @benhsurtees :)

@eric3000 Any other similar useful app to recommend?
Eric Metelka
@jberrebi Alfred, TextExpander, 1Password, Divvy, and Yoink. If I don't have those on my Mac, I go crazy. Just not as fast and at peace with my computer.

@eric3000 Just bought Yoink. Looks great! I'm already using Alfred, TextExpander and 1Password all the time :) Don't need Divvy I also like a lot Fantastical & Skitch

@jberrebi I think we think alike :) I'm also using Fantastical and skitch. Productivity machine

My obsession with tiny menu bar apps can easily be hidden and cleaned up with this app. Easily my favorite way to tidy things up.

loved it up until el cap. now i just keep my entire menu bar hidden
Kristof Bernaert
@joshtronic what you mean 'until el cap'? what diff do u experience?
Josh Sherman
@ssstofff OSX el capitan introduced a setting under general to automatically hide and show the menu bar. This was around the same time that Bartender2 was released as a paid upgrade. Hiding the menu bar entirely is a sufficient replacement for this app for me as I'm only concerned with not seeing the clutter and not the advanced ordering capabilities that Bartender provides
Kristof Bernaert
@joshtronic i stick to not updates things as long not updated things work. so still yosemith here. It is very handy to me you can arrange Bartender to show icon the default way, hiding it or showing with Bartender. Apple should nog copy ideas but stick to there OS and basic functionalities, like getting their Bluetooth stable :)

I was just bemoaning the fact that this sort of thing didn't exist. Luckily I was just cranky and ignorant. Such a good find!

I've always wanted this! The only issue I've encounter on first run is the RescueTime does not play nicely. It won't go into Bartender, and Bartender says it has it in there.

I've been using Bartender for a little while now and it's one of my favorites because it helps me focus on the menu bar items I need most and still gives me the flexibility to easily access the rest of my less used menu bar items

A must have in my list.

I'm a huge fan of Bartender. My favorite feature is ability to hide things like Notification Center and Spotlight that I don't use. Here is my setup: http://braccocdn.com/15I3G

Simply amazing. Makes my menu bar so much cleaner.

Awesome. Just grabbed this. 80% chance I pay the $15 in a few weeks. Love the model. Prove your value, if people love it they'll happily pay for it rather than "lose" it.

Couldn’t live without Bartender. Such a great utility.
