Interesting... while the scooter market zigs toward building huge direct-to-consumer brands and fleets, Bird zags toward a white-labeled B2B2C model. 🧐
Can we talk about the best use cases for this? It seems the broad general use case of uniquely branded, locally owned scooters doesn’t add significant value for riders, and it’s unclear how this is a better margin formula for Bird compared to keeping the full profit and assigning venture funds or other low cost debt for purchasing scooters outright. Perhaps there are specific use cases like events where this makes sense. Any others?
Wow. Ingenious solution for getting rid of Bird's cap-ex problem while making money off some.
I would be very surprised if this actually makes anyone money.
This seemed like the inevitable expansion for Bird, however with all the backlash towards scooter sharing and of course state legislation being an obstacle, I wonder how well this can work out?
Went Down Town San Antonio tried these Scooter's out. Let's see how good they are. Very Fun and Exciting Guys. Made this review video for trying out the scooter.
