Love the concept of Bit Buddy! As a creative, keeping tabs on my external drives can feel like a full-time job. This app seems like an MVP that could really simplify my workflow. I can already imagine the UX benefits it’ll bring – no more frantic searches for that elusive drive! Props to the makers for focusing on such a niche but impactful problem. Have you considered any B2B options for studios or teams? Would love to see this gain traction in that space too. Looking forward to watching it grow! Upvoting for sure!

What about android users?

@giannistolou Hi there! While Bit Buddy isn't available on Android yet, I just bought a budget Android phone to start tinkering with and start the process of bringing Bit Buddy to Android!

Hey Bit Buddy team, I'm wondering how it handles syncing information across multiple devices - for example, if someone uses both an iPhone and an iPad. Do you have any plans to expand to other operating systems in the future? Congrats on the launch!

@kyrylosilin Hi! Thank you for checking out Bit Buddy! Right now, iCloud Sync isn't a feature but it's high on my list of features to add! As for Android, I just recently picked up a budget phone to tinker with and bring Bit Buddy to more devices! Maybe a Vision Pro app too!

So another app to keep track of more gadgets, great, just what I needed, seems like we’re all just collecting apps now, maybe try focusing on making our lives simpler instead of adding more complexity, but hey maybe someone will find it useful if they like juggling their digital stuff, good luck with that.

I've seen a lot of app launches lately but this one kinda stands out, I get the whole idea of keeping track of your devices but is that really a problem many people have, not sure creatives need another app to manage stuff they already deal with on a daily basis, I mean do they even want to use iOS only, wouldn't it be better if it worked on Android too?

Great idea! Would love to try it for myself!
Nicholas Dapolito
@alexandra_describy Thank you! Bit Buddy is available now on iOS and will be coming to Android!

Seems like another app to clutter my phone, I'd rather just use a good old checklist and some post-its, tech doesn't have to overcomplicate everything y'know?
Mike
Seeing yet another app aimed at "managing devices" on iOS and iPadOS makes me wonder how many more options we need. As someone in tech for over 20 years, I can't help but feel these tools just add more noise, cloud providers already offer great integration solutions, so what's the real value here? 🤔

@salesforceguru2023 Hi there! You bring up some valid points! With Bit Buddy, I wanted to solve the issue I had with my various external SSDs and hard drives. Simply put, I lost track of which was which too regularly and often forgot which files were stored on them. And since most of my drives aren't network-attached, I decided to kill two birds with one stone: learn SwiftUI and create my perfect SSD/HDD tracker. During development that idea expanded to encompass more than just SSDs and HDDs, but the core idea remains the same. As for the market, I agree there seems to be an abundance of these kinds of apps. I suppose the difference or "value" in Bit Buddy is that it isn't some massive company working on things they think people would like. I'm just a dude that likes to tinker. And for those in more creative fields such as video, audio, and photography, I like to think Bit Buddy has some great tools to help optimize workflows. Thank you for checking out Bit Buddy!

Looks kinda interesting but I’m not sure it’ll actually help those of us juggling multiple devices, I just feel like it might be another app that adds to the clutter, maybe I’m wrong but has anyone else had issues with staying organized using stuff like this?‍

The addition of biometric enhancements and usage percentages is a smart move. Kudos to the team!

I like the idea of tracking external hard drives and devices in one place. It seems like a useful tool for staying organized and managing storage efficiently.

I get that managing all those external drives can be a nightmare, but do we really need another app cluttering our phones, shouldn't there be more integration with existing file management systems to make it worth our time, also curious if any backup features are planned for future updates, not sure if this alone will solve the organization chaos but maybe it's a step in the right direction, thoughts?
