At Synonym we are thrilled to officially release Bitkit, our flagship product designed to empower users with true financial sovereignty. Bitkit is a self-custodial Bitcoin wallet leveraging the Lightning Network for instant payments without relying on third-party custodians. Your private keys never leave your device, ensuring that only you have access to your funds. We built Bitkit on open-source principles, prioritizing transparency and community involvement. During our beta phase, many users and developers contributed by flagging issues, helping us make Bitkit more stable and secure. Self-custody is the cornerstone of our philosophy because controlling your own money shouldn't be optional. It's a fundamental right. Bitkit puts you in charge, minimizing risks like exchange hacks and custodian malpractices and enabling permissionless transactions. Looking forward to your feedback, and let's keep pushing Bitcoin payments forward together.

@devindsgbyq Fees are the same for everyone, LN fees are super low. Sometimes les than a cent.

Hey Jacobo, love the idea of Bitkit! Super interested in the self-custody feature. Quick question though - does the Lightning Network integration mean I can make payments instantly with no fees? Keep up the great work!
Jacobo
@robertthomas2 Thanks Rob. Yeah, instant payments with "minimal fees", usually around 0.0001% to 0.001% of the transaction amount.

Where’s the source code? Has it been audited? No offence, but no one is going to transfer all their BTC into your wallet simply because it is self-custodial. That doesn’t mean safe.

This actually looks like a very nice Bitcoin Wallet compared to the rest. So cool that you. support Lightning and it is self-custodial

It’s refreshing to see a wallet that prioritizes user sovereignty and privacy while keeping transparency in mind. The community involvement during the beta phase clearly shows the dedication to creating a stable and secure product. Congrats on the launch, @jaketoshi! Bitkit's focus on self-custody and leveraging the Lightning Network is a huge step forward for Bitcoin users. How does Bitkit handle transaction fees, especially for microtransactions? Looking forward to exploring its features!
Jacobo
@renchu_song Fees are all the same for everyone on the Lightning Network. So basically near zero % fees.

Congrats on the launch! Does Bitkit offer any unique features for managing both Bitcoin and Lightning transactions within the same app? How does it ensure the security of users' funds?
Jacobo
@zane12580 Hi. Yup, your funds are in your control 100%, since you get the keys right after creating the wallet. We also have the feature to move money back-and-forth from on-chain (savings) to Lightning (spending) super easy + coin control.
Patricia Harris
Bitkit sounds like a solid tool for those wanting true control over their Bitcoin. Just checked it out and it looks promising! Congrats on the launch.

Rodrigo
Rodrigo, this wallet looks super useful, especially with its self-custodial feature, the founder did a great job with this, but I'm curious how secure it is in the long run, definitely has potential but might need more transparency on the security front, keep it up.
Jacobo
@rodcostadev Self custodial is always the most secure way Rodri.
No-Code Bitcoin Academy
Woah! Super slick wallet! Congrats to everyone involved. 🔥

Hey there, so I gave this a spin and while I love the open-source vibe and self-custody aspect, I'm wondering, what kinda security features are actually in place to protect my keys on the device, you say "your keys, your future" but what if someone hacks my phone, also any plans for adding multi-sig support or more detailed transaction history, just curious
Jacobo
@brandbuilderjena If you have your keys, just restore the wallet somewhere else and send the funds out.
Hannah Travis
This seems like a smart way to drive the circular economy with Bitcoin. I’m curious to see how it integrates into everyday transactions and how user-friendly it is.
Jacobo
@travis_hannah eventually LN will lead all microtransactions on the web.
Ricki Q
