Hey everyone! I'm super excited to launch my first product on Product Hunt: Blogging for Devs. Blogging helped my career *so much* as a developer and maker. (Last year it even helped me fund my transition to building my own products full-time.) In the meantime, a lot of my friends in tech started asking me for advice about SEO, growing their email lists, and writing resonant articles. What I realized is that lots of developers — whether individual contributors, makers, managers, or founders — could benefit massively from blogging... If only the tools and techniques were tailored for them (instead of the typical "marketing" angle). That's why I started Blogging for Devs as a free email course and weekly newsletter. It was just meant to be my "pandemic side project". But I was totally blown away when over 1,250 people signed up in the first two weeks 🙀 It's been growing mostly by word-of-mouth since then. Besides the free 7-day email course, the project has expanded into a weekly newsletter, a blog with interviews and original articles, plus a growing community of devs who blog. The subscribers are super creative, driven, and already publishing amazing articles. I'm really excited to be on Product Hunt today! "Blogging for Devs" is one of the few newsletters that I actually want to read in my inbox. The topics are highly interesting and the quality of the content is great! Monica clearly puts a lot of effort into the emails.

This newsletter is a very informative course on blogging from a more technical perspective. It's written in a way that is both highly detailed and easy to learn from, even as a beginner, which I really appreciate!

Great newsletter - highly recommended!

I'm not quite the target audience for Blogging for Devs (I'm already a full-time blogger) but I was curious to see what kind of advice Monica would give and I must say I have been very impressed. Blogging for Devs is full of great advice and strategies that are easy to implement and bring results.

Great newsletter. Like seriously, I read a lot of them between building. This is way up there. It’s one thing to be jammed full of tips. It’s another to have a writing style that is warm, succinct and engaging. You get both with Monica’s content. (Also, the link building post was epic. Thank you).

I've been blogging for a long time on software engineering. Even so, I really liked this course. Monica really dug herself into the weeds on not just how to get started, but also on how to grow the audience of your blog, depending on what you're after (e.g. standing out for a certain technology). I picked up a bunch of useful tools and it's great to see this launch on PH. I recommend it!

This really is an amazing course. I actually never opt in to email courses, and when I do I usually never read them. But I think this course resonates with so many people is because it’s actually solving a real problem... when you’re a solo founder who spends most his time trying to design and create quality code, you kind of neglect marketing and have no idea how to even write an article. Monica also takes a personal interest in her readers, when I emailed her asking for help she replied and blew me away by how much time and effort i noticed she put into her reply. This is how you engage with an email list, hands down! Even if you’re not a dev, I think you can learn a lot about how Monica engages with her readers. Which is a really great skill to have if you’re trying to sell software.

I was hugely impressed with this email course. Even if you've done a bit of blogging before, it's well worth signing up and getting tips from Monica!

Even though I've being blogging for a while, I still learned a lot from Monica's course. You don't see a lot of free email courses out there with high quality content for developers. I guarantee you'll learn a thing or two if you sign up. I learned a few handy tips about SEO that I plan to apply to my personal blog! Beyond that, her writing style is unique. She knows how to weave in her own experiences and real-life examples in a way that makes the content approachable for all levels of folks. Highly recommend you sign up before she realizes this should be a paid course 😉
