I have been a huge fan of @joeyroth s work since I first saw his sorapot on a vlog from @kevinrose awhile back.
Interesting take on a classic and hope to try it some day.
I have a Bialetti Moka Express that I've enjoyed using for a while now, but have always had major issues with the handle being so close to the body. I've been burnt a few times and even melted the handle a bit because I positioned it incorrectly over the stove top flame. Will check out my local Blue Bottle to see when they'll be getting these in. This is something I'd like to check out in person first.
Does anyone know if the place where the ground coffee sits is heated by the stove as you heat the water? In theory needs to get thru the ground coffee at 92C but I think the coffee may be heated by the supporting plate where it seats as it is made from metal which conducts heat pretty well...
