So deepviews are basically a quick preview of a specific view/frame within an app without the download latency?
= no password or touch approval to download the app.
Sounds Awesome.
@datarade Yep pretty much, except is in the browser before the user has to download the app. Once they download it they get deplaned to that content right after install. What do you think?
The UX is great and you guys focused on one of the most important problems we have when downloading a certain app. Also, I love how you guys launched everything from Apple products (App Store) to Android and web. Really nice work!
Looks powerful, nice to be able to direct send peeps to the 'aha' moment instead of forcing them to d/l and sign up first.
Has anyone tried this, curious to hear about the impact on conversion numbers!
@pieterpaul Hey Pieter, we just have initial data for now from our launch partners - iHeartRadio, WeHeartIt, 9Gag, AllTheCooks, TheChive, Close5 and many more. In every single case, the Deepview additional step outperforms the direct-to-store flow by anywhere from 2 to 6 times over. As an example, data from Close5 has shown that users who see a Deepview after clicking a link will install at a rate of 37.5% as compared to users who are routed to an app store will install at rate of 7.6%.
@ourielohayon We're going to make the link migration to iOS9 amazingly beautiful. For example, every Deepview will also be a iOS9 Universal Link and will also be automatically listed in Apple's Spotlight Search for discovery. Not to mention the links are automatically listed on Google's App Indexing and Bing as well. We just build things that mobile developers would have to build themselves, to save them the effort.
Hi, I'm one of the founders or Branch. We started as app developers ourselves set to fix the problems we were facing building our own app, and the ability to surface content was our biggest challenge.
You’ve know the problem - generic interstitials that prohibit people from using the mobile website with the intention of driving an app install. A user clicks on a link and is taken to a full page advertisement for the app. It’s basically the worst.
Thousands of apps use Branch deep linking to route users to the right page after they install the app. We wanted to take this to the next level and give app developers the ability to route users to the right page before they install. What started out as a suggestion from a few developers in the Branch community has turned into a full-fledged product offering.
Branch Deepviews are previews of your native app content that are:
- dynamically created
- automatically formatted
- fully customizable
- desktop or mobile web compatible
Every Deepview comes loaded with a download call-to-action (CTA), powered by a deferred deep link, that will route users to the App Store and give them a personalized post-install experience. If a user already has the app, the Deepview will not be shown and the user will be taken directly to the content in the app after they click on the link. Moreover, because now every piece of content in your app has a webpage, we automatically add Apple Universal Link tags as well as Google App Indexing tags, Facebook AppLinks tags, making your app content discoverable.
@_gordee Hi Gordon, the deepview would show a preview of the chat basically - you would need to generate a preview of the message that was send to the user and they would see that in the deepview. They would need to then download the app to engage. Happy to chat through the details over a call or e-mail - mada [at] branch [dot] io and support [at] branch [dot] io
I just tried it @hitlist_app and it working perfectly. If you have not tried branch yet, I highly recommend as a way to power in-app sharing/referrals.
It looks like customization of templates has not rolled out yet. For desktop template, I'd like a version that also links to our homepage, as it can be intimidating putting a phone # in without more info on the app.
Also, would love to see more complete docs/plugin for creating our own on our domain. It's a bit sparse. But overall. Great product/launch!
@rahulcap Hey Rahul - Shoot us a note at support@branch.io and we'll roll out a custom template for you. Happy to do it! Expect customization and template sharing to be available in the coming weeks.
Thanks @mada299 for the support. Do you guys support MP3 or any sound format in the deepviews page ? We are building Spotify like (iOS only app). And we would love to know if deepviews supports sound in it. Also about SEO, can I play on that to optimize it for Google ? Appreciate your great support
@danr_4 Hey Dan - we've got a few folks that offer a competitive deep linking service, namely Yozio and Tapstream, but we're the first to offer a full website with the click of a button for your app. We're also the largest in terms of use, with Branch serving hundreds of millions of deep link routes a day across thousands of apps. Also, we're the only free service. :) Excited to see what you build!
We love working with Branch. By giving users an idea of where they'll go after the install, I can imagine that this will boost deep-link conversions.
As some of you may already know, getting a user to the app-store is only the first step. Anything we can do to get them to actually make the download is appreciated. Glad to know Branch is working through these problems with us!
@juan_vasconez Thanks Juan. Keep an eye on the Branch blog - I am writing a piece on what channels/platforms have the highest click to install conversions based on all our aggregate link data. Would love your thoughts!
Mike and team are doing some really amazing things for mobile. Great to see them leading the pack with Deeplinking-- Deepviews are the way all mobile redirects should be done!
This is awesome. I have been super-excited about contextual install links, but the mobile web page before a user decides to install still felt like a big blocker to me. I love how you guys are tackling these little (but actually HUGE) :) problems for app developers and marketers.
Branch is a great product, and this just makes it even better. We've seen great results with the former desktop SMS page and looking forward to even better results with this. All for no effort on our part.
