Bubble 2.0 — Build and host web applications without having to write code

Hello everyone, it's great to be back on Product Hunt after all these years. Thanks @bentossell for the hunt!! We officially launched on PH in October 2015, and we're excited to be here again with new branding and a ton of new functionality. Here we are! While Bubble's vision, empowering everyone to build software, hasn't changed, it feels like we have totally different product. The platform is now mature and stable in production. A few of our users have been part of YC, and some others have raised millions. Some of the biggest additions have been: 1) Letting our users create, sell, and share plugins to add new abilities to Bubble. When we started Bubble, it was about us writing code so that others wouldn't have to. Now, everyone can join our mission of creating the world's greatest platform for code-free programming. Bubble plugins can be built either with code or without code, letting everyone participate in the visual programming revolution. 2) One-click API creation for any Bubble app. APIs make the internet a more open place. We're happy that Bubble users can now build and deploy powerful APIs as easily as they can build web pages. 3) Rapid app creation via templates. Users can now share and sell designs with each other to help kick start the creative process and launch gorgeous apps in minutes. 4) Dedicated hosting options for Bubble apps, helping our fastest growing customers scale on custom, global infrastructure.

I have first encountered Bubble almost 3 years ago when they just launched on Product Hunt. And Bubble has literally changed my life. Not only mine but of hundreds of thousands of people that all of a sudden got empowered to build products that they would never build otherwise. Bubble reduces the time and costs of creating web and mobile apps dramatically, revolutionizing the whole space of web development. It also enables totally non technical people to build beautiful and powerful apps without requiring developers. Yes, I can be called biased since together with my co-founder Vlad Larin we have founded a business building products on Bubble (https://zeroqode.com), but if this business strives and provides jobs to 25+ team members then it only proves the fact that Bubble is indeed a great platform.

Pros:

- fast and easy way to create web & mobile applications

- even non-technical people can build powerful and beautiful apps

Cons:

requires some efforts to learn but it's still waaaay faster and easier than learning to code

In 2013, I started using Bubble to build an online marketplace for my startup. I had no coding experience and no budget, and was able to build an app with user signups, crowdfunding functionality, and payment processing. Bubble was rough around the edges, but it had the signatures of a disruptive technology. Over the past 5 years, the platform has evolved in dramatic fashion, adding hundreds of features, a marketplace for plugins, support for responsive design, the ability to connect to virtually any API, and immense performance & scalability improvements. In 2015 I co-founded AirDev, the first Bubble development agency, to help organizations build great applications using this powerful technology. We have built hundreds of products for startups & enterprises without having coders on our team. Many of our clients imagine they will use Bubble for a simple prototype, and then get hooked on the speed and flexibility with which we can develop. The Bubble team is committed to the long-run, aiming to replace traditional code as the medium for helping anyone create & express on the web. I'm excited to see where this wild ride takes us!

Over the past few years Bubble has evolved from a hobbyist/tinkerer tool to an enterprise-ready product that replaces coding. We have clients who've raised $100M+ and use Bubble for majority of their tech stack. There are still missing pieces (like support for fully-native apps) but this is just the beginning of a movement that's going to do the same thing to software development costs as AWS did to server costs.

None if you use it in the right way

Hands down... in an increasingly crowded space of "No or Low Code" tools... Bubble is the best. The team has fostered a community around the product, are actively improving the product daily and still find time to engage the community. Bubble woks well for many, many, use cases. If you are building any kind of Workflow, Productivity, Marketplace, Subscription, Mobile, you name it... you can build it in bubble. I can only think of apps like high fidelity, sprite heavy games that may not perform as well on bubble. When the team released the API connector and Plugins, they really increased the possibilities. Performance had also been greatly improved. This is a GREAT product and a very competent and responsive team! They are building a product that's demystifying coding for a lot of people.

I have been using Bubble for the past few months. Coming from non-coding background, I found Bubble extremely useful. The new branding looks awesome. Kudos to the Bubble team :)

3 years I'm using it, and I am still loving it. I've recommended it for several projects. For me, one of the best way to develop quickly an MVP even if you are a developer. I must say out all the low code, no code, RAD tools out there Bubble is leaps forward it terms of ease of use, logic and price. If you still haven't used it you are truly missing out on something great. The guys over at Bubble are quick to respond and love what they do. So click get it and start creating your next dream app

Hey, cool to see Bubble featured on ProductHunt again! I'm the creator of QritiQ.me: A platform for designers to share honest feedback, which got quite popular for some time last year, thanks to you guys at ProductHunt! QritiQ was fully built on top of Bubble, not a single line of code was written for this whole project. (Seriously, how amazing is that!) If you're on the fence about wether you should try Bubble: Just do it! I can't recommend it enough!

I have been developing on Bubble for 2.5 years, I have built (and still operate) a profitable and growing SaaS company using Bubble programming. I have also created many amazing web applications for companies and individuals - everyone is amazed at how quickly and how well the apps work for the speed of development. Definitely recommend people learn Bubble and open their world to building web apps quickly!

Can make most types of web apps

Strong demand for affordable apps, so lots of freelancing requests

Cons:

Slight learning curve - but still quick compared to it's capabilities

BLOWN AWAY BY THE NEW BRANDING! There have been a few comments already about how the functionality is amazing, but as a designer that uses Bubble frequently, I am so excited to see an update here.

Just to get right to it - I love Bubble! I started using the platform in April this year, and have been on the site for many hours a day, 5 days a week+ building my SaaS (smb) website and mobile app. A few important points: *Every day I am amazed at what I can do on Bubble. There is always a way to forge the individual path needed for my particular use cases, even very complex challenges. *The Bubble forum and our community of Bubble developers is **amazing**. I honestly never expected that as part of using Bubble, I'd enter a community in which you can always post a question when you're stumped, and peers who are either much more experienced, or are newbies who have faced a similar challenge, will reach out willingly to help you solve it. Everyone helps each other and solves problems together. This also builds an active, well organized resource tool for those who encounter the same challenges later. *The Bubble team is constantly unveiling new updates, features, and tools to enhance the platform. I feel secure building on Bubble for long-term success because as I could infer from just a few days on the platform, the founders and their team are committed to consistently evolving the platform. What's more, leaders in the Bubble community (and forum) develop plugins that take the Bubble team's work further. They are passionate about maximizing the platform's potential. Love ya Bubble! Jamie
