Awesome! I would also love to have a bigger choice in photos and photo categories as well as a choice in fonts and sizes maybe? As it is, it's a bit simplistic.
I'm a little biased, but I love the ease of using Pablo to create images! So happy to see it on Product Hunt today! :D
Being able to right click on selected text to create a quick Pablo image quote made it much easier and faster for me to create visually-engaging posts to share for Remotive! :)
The Buffer team were absolutely blown away by the love for Pablo here on Product Hunt when we launched the beta version back in Spring. You guys have been an amazing source of feedback and inspiration for us.
Since the spring, more than 500,000 images have been created using Pablo and we've been hard at work on making Pablo even more useful. With the new version we've expanded its functionality to work with all social media networks β on top of Twitter, you can now create images with the perfect size and format for Facebook, Instagram, and even Pinterest.
From v1, we also learned that people loved the product but wanted easier ways to get great content into Pablo. The Buffer extension now supercharges Pablo's power. Right click on text anywhere on the web to create a quick Pablo image quote. Right click on an image anywhere online to make it your background for a new Pablo image.
So for example, if you wanted to create an engaging Pin for Pinterest from a blog post (creating beautiful, engaging Pins was another problem many people faced from our feedback), you can simply right click on an image within the post to create your Pin and then schedule it with Buffer.
We're pumped to get this out there and hopefully help every marketer create stunning designs out of the box! Super happy to talk more about Pablo and answer any questions you might have! Members of our team will be on hand and checking comments throughout the day :)
@jimhitch "The Buffer extension now supercharges Pablo's power. Right click on text anywhere on the web to create a quick Pablo image quote."
Was waiting for a feature like this. Very nice!
@jimhitch Feature Request. We created custom images specifically to use it pablo. It would be great if we could upload our own backgrounds permanently. Love the new Pablo!
Love the update @jimhitch! I used v.1 a few times, but these new features will definitely draw me back for more usage. When downloading my image from Pablo, the size was 1024 x 512. Facebook (my primary use case is open graph usage) recommends 1200 x 628. Have you seen any cons from using only 1024 x 512 in your testing?
@parkeragee Hiya Parker! Good to hear from you here! :) And what a keen eye! I'm not aware of any downside there, but am eager to hear if you see one! Interestingly, I've seen a potential downside to having the 'wide' option be that large - where Twitter's timeline does some cropping and makes an image with text on it look slightly off until you fully engage it...
I'm a Pablo fan since it came out and this new version makes things easier :)
One idea based on the experience I have with the product, so far: allow an option to center the text horizontally or vertically (or both) to the image
I was at a PH meetup yesterday & discovered Snappa.io which seems to be a competition. I tried to play with Pablo and it is ridiculously easy to use ! I was reading stats that articles or tweets with images are shares 2X times more.
With Buffer integration, I think its a HIT !
@nextgenguy Hi Vignesh! So glad to hear you're enjoying Pablo. We may do just that! Not sure yet, but definitely listening to the community about different uses for Pablo. :)
The 2.0 version looks amazing. I look forward to the Instagram integration because that is going to be huge!
Curious, is this built with Angular / React? Other? What's the tech stack generally?
Love the Buffer guys and the culture they have built. Hope to catchup with you again in Sydney soon :)
@elbahnasy Hey Iz! Thanks so much for your amazing words!
Pablo is mainly built using KineticJS, React, and just vanilla JS :)
Sydney is an amazing city! Would love to go back there soon and catch-up! :D
Pablo is such an awesome tool. At Unsplash, we're honored to see the use of Unsplash photos within Pablo 2.0! Would be slick to see integration with the Unsplash API ;)
Just easy and nice to use. Pure curiosity, where are the pictures from? I was thinking about linking it toward @mikaelcho's Unsplash (https://www.producthunt.com/tech...)
Twitter will become more aesthetic place for sure.
