We're really excited to launch our new tool — Data Breach Checker. It's a database that you can search and see if your email address was compromised in any known data breaches or pasted logs.

👋 Hey there Product Hunters! 🤓 The motivation behind this tool was to aggregate data from multiple sources, including our own, to create the largest database of data breaches and pasted logs on the web. We’re starting with “Have I Been Pwned” by Troy Hunt, which is endorsed by global government NetSec agencies and the all-around go-to database for this. 🕵🏻‍♂️ We’ll be scouring the dark-net and hacking forums for database leaks, cross checking them with existing data and aggregating them to the cloud database. We’re not hosting this database on our own servers, so in the unfortunate but unlikely event that we get hacked, the database is on a different server with completely different security. ⭐️ We’ll also be adding new services similar to Have I Been Pwned, as well as a feature to notify you in case your email address was compromised in a new data breach. ?makers What benefits does this have over haveibeenpwned, which has a database of billions of records of known data breaches to check against, and has a long standing track record of providing a good service?

@rick_m1 Hi Rick, thanks for the interest! This encapsulates haveibeenpwned and we will be adding more services as well as our own data. The idea is to aggregate data from multiple sources so that we have a single database that is as complete as possible.

@aguilaair_tech Hi Eduardo. Data Breach Checker is meant to be an aggregated database of multiple services. The goal is to have one big single database that aggregates data from as many services as possible, including our own data.

Your site states "We will never sell or spam your email address" but clearly doesn't state that you don't store or otherwise use the email address - what is up with that?

@herqueenrose Hi Rose, we wanted to give users the guarantee that their email addresses won't be selled or spammed. We also don't store them when using the tool. We advocate for digital privacy so we're against any kind of data selling, email spamming and so on.
