what a beautifully designed website. shame the pricing seems a bit high
Brian Roach
@_jacksmith I agree, especially with Refind being free and doing an amazing job at bookmarking and categorizing, $11/mo is simply not going to happen for me. $11/yr would be a different story probably. Then it'd be up there with Pinboard. I do really like the card idea tho hats off to good design. 🎩👏🏼
Nina
@anodigital @_jacksmith Thank you for the design comments! As for the pricing - I hear you. We are more geared towards the community of creative professionals, who we spoke a lot to while building Channelkit 2.0. We've put special emphasis on the content organisation functionality and the design that gives a sense of ownership and helps use the content, rather than just pile it. We're aiming to generate enough value for them in their work to justify the price, and we believe that when we build everything that's in the pipeline now, we should be able to do it :)
Nina
@_jacksmith Jack, in view of your older comment here, just wanted to let you know we're running a $7/mo promotion now

I really enjoyed using Channelkit to create a board of some of my favorite growth sites and articles: https://www.channelkit.com/325/k... Channelkit reminds me a little of Pinterest, but for professionals who wish to share their links more privately.
Nina
Thanks to all of you contributing with comments and suggestions, we took them into account and added Channelkit Simple — a lighter version with the basic features priced at $2 / month. Now live! https://www.channelkit.com/

@ninazavr lovely website and really something we all need. even though i am not a "creative" type, i can see myself using it to do mindmaps and exploratory design collections. We use private boards on pinterest for some of that right now :) Pricing is a little steep for me, but i am guessing for creative types where their livelihood depends on being organized , it makes sense

Hey everyone! I'm Nina, the CEO of Channelkit and I'd be happy to answer any questions you might have! Channelkit is a web tool aimed primarily at creative professionals that enables to collect and organise content of all formats (links, images, videos, files etc) into a neat visual knowledge base. We're big advocates of filing as opposed to piling and built the product around this idea. You can assign all content you add to preset categories or make cusom ones (you can adjust description fields, display etc.) - these are neatly displayed as cards that you can group any way you want and either keep private or share. We've been committed to the idea of building the perfect visual knowledge management tool for a few years now, making continuous design and functionality changes. This version we are releasing now is the one we're finally proud of :)

1. I like this a lot! "Piling" information found on the internet is fantastic. The design is also fantastic. 2. I would agree with the comments made on pricing. $11/mo is too high. For comparison, I pay $9.99/mo for a music subscription to Google Play Music. I listen to music all day long both while at work and at home. I would not use this as much as my music subscription. 3. I do not feel inclined to start a trial; I do not want to invest time into a product knowing I would have to pay that much for it. 4. The homepage should do a better job of explaining "what" the product does for me. I kind of got it, but I had to read the Nina's comment here on ProductHunt to clarify everything. 5. The "printed" stacks of cards next to the laptop is pretty, but also initially confusing. I initially thought this was a service for printing custom information cards — crazy right?
Nina
@pburtchaell Patrick - thank you! All points taken.

Very cool design and implementation but the pricing is too high for something I could do most of on Trello or Evernote for free. Needs to have a more compelling differentiator. Maybe offer a discounted yearly price?
Nina
@omnialx Thank you, Alex! We will consider this
Nina
@omnialx Alex, hi! offering a discounted price now!

I like this a lot so far, but I agree with others about pricing. I wouldn't pay anything for it honestly—I've been trained by other services to expect a free option. It seems like the best pricing model would be an always-free tier for personal use with some limitations. Then charge the $11/month or whatever for collaborative/unlimited accounts aimed at people who use it for their business or could have their employer pay for it. Also, it'd be cool if while creating a new card, you could also create a new channel for it just by typing a name in the "channel" box.
Nina
@mikewilkes We're leaning more towards professional use, especially among the creative community. It's the pain we ourselves experienced without a tool like ours and see how we generate value that justifies the price. I see your point if a tool like ours is less of a must-have for work. We'll give it a thought and maybe come up with a limited personal use product. But that is less of a priority for us at this point.

Hi Nina. Congrats on your launch! Great to see more beautiful products from Russians :) Really like what you're doing and Channelkit seems very promising. Although I couldn't figure out the way to fit it to my workflow. It seems like an alternative to Evernote on one hand but on the other it's a visual bookmarking tool (which is great – I personally struggle with Pinboard's lack of visual options). But at the same time I couldn't stop seeing Pinterest in here. Channelkit definitely needs a bookmarklet or browser extension to quickly save things from the web but I guess it's just a matter of time. Anyway, beautiful product and good luck to you guys! :-)
Nina
@stepamitaki Thank you Stepa! We do have a browser extension :) https://chrome.google.com/websto...

Yass! Wonderful!

@suparchie Thank you Archie!

I have an idea for a project and I'm at the initial stages of research. I was dumping everything into a google doc, but this makes it far more orderly, and its intuitive. Im hoping that I'll be addicted enough at the end of the month to feel comfortable paying $11/month- not sure yet.
Nina
@dannyoberman Danny, hi! I saw your tweets and will be reaching out very soon. We'll do everything we can to help you get addicted!

I like the idea and the design, so I'm curious to see how this develops further. Having said that, I think it is too early to start charging users. Some important features seem to be missing, some existing flows need to be more polished. Not to mention limited mobile support. To be more specific, one big missing feature for me is the ability to search for cards. Another concept that requires more work would be keywords. I can't see how I can access keywords outside of a card. Anyway, I didn't mean to be the guy that suddenly suggests random features without understanding the vision of the product. I only wanted to point out that the current version doesn't seem polished enough to really start charging. The pricing alone also needs to be evaluated. To put it in perspective, ChannelKit is almost 3 times as expensive as Evernote, which can be seen as a (more ugly) competitor. .
Nina
@michal_subel Michal, thank you for the very right comments. We're working on search and more key features, which we release within the month. We do not want to charge for a raw product and are pushing hard on this. As for the comparison with Evernote - we're very much focused on the creative community, where design and visual functionality are important and key for it to be used as a work tool.
Edvins Antonovs
Really the idea, might give it a try.
Nina
@edvinsantonovs Let us know what you think!
David Carpe
looks great, but given the need to explore how it works and then figure out if it is a "must have," I would suggest a freemium plan and offering - perhaps let me make three cards for free with no share options
Nina
@passingnotes David, would love to hear feedback. We're aiming to make Channelkit a "must have" and work with feedback to improve the product, so that pricing would be less of an issue.
