Hey everyone!
I’m Daniel, I did most of the technical work on cheyn.
Here some technical context, for everyone who's curious:
We built cheyn on NextJS with Styled Components and MongoDB as our database and NextAuth to handle accounts.
Daniela Gomes created the design.
We owe infinite gratitude to Thao Nguyen for building the models in Blender and CLO and then tweaking them more times than can be counted to run properly in our setup.
Rendering and manipulation happens in Three.js, or more precisely, React Three Fiber (a React wrapper around three).
Anderson Mancini was instrumental in helping us to properly project prints onto the models.
We use additional tools from the drei package and framer motion to further manipulate the
Don McCurdy’s gltf-transform (and his generous advise during setup) enables us to manipulate and compress models on the frontend.
Let me know if you have any other questions, I'm happy to chat.
Thanks for using cheyn and we're looking forward to your feedback!
Using Cheyn transformed the way I visualize fashion. In a matter of minutes, I was able to design, tweak, and bring my streetwear ideas to life in stunning 3D detail. It's not just a tool; it's a game-changer for every aspiring fashion entrepreneur out there.
I’ve had the pleasure of getting to use Cheyn the last few months and I look forward to integrating it into our e-commerce systems. Great execution y’all!
Hi Team! Congrats on the launch, I think this is super intuitive and great for fashion design. Coincidentally, my startup ezML provides powerful computer vision integration for apps like yours and I see potential to expand your feature set. Please let me know if you're interested in a collab!
The more I learn about you guys and what you've been through, the more I love this. Thank you for sharing your story on the website, and being transparent in your backgrounds and direction you're going in. It makes it easier to trust that you're going all the way. Really impressed. I shared the link with some of my design/materials friends at Meta and they love it.
@tim_meta Tim this means a lot to us. I am happy that people reading our story. Theres way more to speak about. Step by step. Thank you so much for your support.
@ali_azimi1 FYI keen to see when you bolt into some great supply chains to have an end-to-end option. The ability to sync real-world items with a digital user experience will be exciting. Especially in terms of high quality digital assets to run a campaign with, and the confidence that the stock itself will be top notch. Loving your approach.
@tim_meta exactly. We have two approaches currently. One for B2B more software related. And 2. B2C more real world focused with manufacturing integration. We try to balance this now and go forward. Thank you for your feedback Tim. would you be open for more in depth talks the coming days or weeks?
