Cicada is a modern CI/CD engine that lets you write your pipelines using TypeScript, rather than YAML. With Cicada, you can test jobs locally on your machine and run them in the cloud.

Hey Product Hunt community! I'm excited to introduce you to Cicada, a modern CI/CD engine that lets you write your pipelines in TypeScript. No more YAML-hell. Here are some of the features that Cicada offers: πŸ’» Use conditionals and loops: TypeScript allows you to use control flow statements like conditionals and loops, making it easier to write complex pipelines. πŸ§‘β€πŸ€β€πŸ§‘ Collaborate with ease: With Cicada, you can write your CI pipelines in TypeScript and collaborate with your team in the same language as your application. πŸ“¦ Import packages from existing ecosystem: TypeScript lets you import packages from the existing ecosystem, so you can use your favorite libraries and tools to build your CI/CD pipelines. πŸš€ Faster execution: Cicada takes advantage of layer caching to speed up build times, so your pipelines run faster. 🌎 Consistent builds everywhere: Since Cicada pipelines run inside of containers, your pipelines will work the same way, regardless of where they are executed. 🀝 Support for monorepos: Cicada supports monorepos, so you can manage your builds and tests for multiple projects in one place. Cicada is perfect for JS/TS engineers who want to write CI in the same language as their application and for DevOps/Infra engineers looking to leverage more powerful tools & abstractions. Join our waitlist to try Cicada out before everyone else. We're excited to hear what you think and how you'll use it in your projects!

Infrastructure as code, but in a way real product teams could work with! Excited about this making AWS significantly more accessible!

Looks actually amazing, can't wait to finally get off the waitlist to try it out! I really dislike writing yaml because it's just so easy to run into issues. Also can't wait to never do a `git commit -m "trigger ci"` again haha. The native typescript stuff seems really promising as well, I wonder if I'm able to use custom node packages as well? We currently use a custom made CLI to run code, but this would make it much easier and also typesafe
