Hey everyone! Tyson here from Clyp. We’re excited to share some awesome new premium features that we’ve been working on. Clyp has been known for a few years now as a streamlined audio sharing and hosting platform. We’ve grown into a creative community that contributes over 250 hours of content daily. To help make it even easier for creators on the platform, we’ve introduced some pretty rad features as part of Clyp Premium: - Lossless streaming - Customized embed player widgets - Unlimited uploads - RSS support (coming this week!) - Google Analytics integration (coming this week!) Since we love the PH community so much, we're going to hook y'all up with a little discount: send your Clyp profile URL to this address and mention Product Hunt in the subject line - hello@clyp.it We’ll be hanging out all day, can’t wait to hear your thoughts! Cheers, Tyson

Soundcloud used to be a simple audio hosting site but quickly became pidgeon-holed as a release platform for major artists. The problem is that there is a way wider audience looking for a home for their audio. Clyp provides that home, creating a sleek and intuitive app for the broad population to host song clips, work-in-progresses, voice notes, baby's first words....you get the idea. I find myself using the app often to catch all kinds of sound. Definitely a must-have on any list.

Pros:

Quick, easy, intuitive. Everything you want in an audio hosting app.

Cons:

None yet.

Have been following the Clyp journey for awhile. It's awesome how far they've come with creating a super simple, accessible UI for sharing audio.

I'd been looking forward to Clyp Premium for a huge reason: lossless! Of course that means bigger files which is why the jump from 25mb to 250mb per Clyp on Premium is great. Previously I'd been using Dropbox to send big files but the Dropbox sync was eating up a ton of hard drive space so I had to be mindful of folder structure. Now it's just sending a link and it streams.

Super easy and intuitive. Clyp lowers the barrier to sharing samples to the point where I don't have to think whether or not something is worth sharing, I just do it.

The Clyp team is constantly rolling out new features and improvements, so you can tell they care a great deal about delivering value to their user base. They're not just resting on their laurels expecting people to adopt their platform.

Pros:

The Clyp interface, whether for uploading media, streaming or viewing your profile, is super intuitive.

Cons:

Content discovery is always a challenge with any product like this, and they would do well to explore as many options as possible

The Clyp team continues to improve user interface and functionality making it so easy to use. Their founders continue to work endlessly on making the best product possible for creators. Great work Clyp!

Pros:

simple and easy to use audio cloud service

Cons:

When I first heard of Clyp I thought it was a fun idea but didn't really 'get it' as to why it needed to exist over Soundcloud, Dropbox, etc. But after using it once it totally clicked. Its the way uploading and sharing an audio file should be. I've used it for fun and also in professional work. The ease of use, for creator and consumer, means it takes about a minute to go from song being exported from Ableton to being emailed to a friend, ready to DL. The clear, uncluttered GUI also means it can be used professionally without having to worry about clients getting turned off. I haven't explored too much of the rest of the site or community because I just use it as a workhorse: get in, upload, get link, get out. And in that regard, the core function of the product, this is the best solution I've seen for audio creators.

Pros:

Easy, easy, easy. So easy to upload/share/edit, with very clear instructions at each step. User flow is designed really well.

Cons:

Haven't experienced any downsides.

As a music nerd with a lot of friends in the music industry both amateur and professionally, I can see how this would be a great weapon in the arsenal of music production tools and techniques.

Pros:

Super cool tool for tech-savvy musicians that want to reach their peers

Cons:

I'm not familiar with any competitors or obvious route for improvement

We're using the free version of Clyp, however they deleted the account without any prior notice. We offered to purchase the premium account to get our data back, however they are not communicating. Worse service ever.

Pros:

Nothing

Cons:

There is no support at all
