Pika free and open-source web app to quickly beautify your screenshots. You can add background gradients, tweak shadows, add rounded corners, tweak spacing and more. You can save the image as PNG file or copy it to clipboard.
Hola makers! I'm Rishi(https://twitter.com/thelifeofrishi) and I built this quick tool to transform boring screenshots into beautiful shareable screenshots.
I do that a lot and till now I had this workflow in Figma where I used to paste the screenshot and then figured out the background gradient and all that stuff, it definitely was time consuming. So I built Pika to make this process quick and easy. In just couple clicks you can generate shareable screenshots and then copy it to clipboard, or export it to your system. It doesn't upload your screenshot anywhere, so no need to worry about anything.
Let me know what you think of it :)
@qaplen Dude love your nifty app!! super slick. pls add few more things like auto cropping out the windows borders, menu bar, bookmarks, etc. few arrows, and text boxes, tie it up together and you have a complete product to make explainer screenshots and videos! LOVE IT. and the name! I had a product called Pippa 🐕
@jaithakur Thanks Jai, I've it planned to fix window border/shadow issue for sure. Thanks for other suggestions too I'll surely see for those, Pippa is a nice fun name for a product :)
This is awesome! It truly makes screenshots beautiful. I plan on using and sharing with my team (and work) and my student. I second/third the suggestions to add text boxes and other annotations. Congrats to you on this wonderful new tool.
@timlmarshall Thanks Tim, appreciate your kind words. Being able to add text is definitely in the plan and I'll surely work on it. I'm @thelifeofrishi on Twitter in case you want to share feedback in future, would love to see it being used by your students and team :)
Very, very nice!
It does EXACTLY as promised: transforming boring screenshots into beautiful shareable screenshots.
Feature request: add a colour picker to create custom backgrounds that match the screenshot.
@erikotn@qaplen I was going to mention the same thing. I have a client that would LOVE this, but they would want to be able to brand it with their color scheme in the background. Great Product!
Definitely a great tool to moodboard and share in presentations to make them less boring.
Would love to hear what was the usecase that you thought about or what was the problem that you wanted to solve by building this Rishi? I am asking this considering that there are a lot of other such tools, even there are some inbuilt tools in operating systems but i do agree that they have limited functionality.
One very good business value proposition that i see here is for moodboarding and being able to add multiple images and pin them in one single canvas which artists would really love to have, based on my previous experience as a freelance designer there isnt a straight forward solution to this ?makers
I am sure if you pick a target group and focus on a one off solution to a painpoint and build the supporting architecture then you can easily monitise Pika, Rishi
If you do like my insights happy to chat and learn your roadmap to see if I can add value anywhere (calendly link in my profile bio) 👋
@balaji_rao1 Hi Pathange, before Pika I was using Figma to design screenshots for sharing on Twitter. It was time consuming to open Figma and select gradients, shadows etc. The intention with Pika is to quicken this process. There are other tools too but Pika is intended to be simplest and quickest to use, with no login needed, no watermarks, nothing, plus it's also open-source so one can make their own version of it :)
I like your idea of being able to add multiple screenshots, I've thought about it and have it in planned. Might be a feature soon :)
I really felt the need of it when posting my product yesterday. I went with the https://www.screely.com/ but it looks great to me! Definitely gonna try it out
