@nathanbarry Hey Nathan, I saw you speak at gumroad a while back. Loved it.
I have two questions:
1. I currently use Mailchimp for my automated services and I love it. How is convertkit different and/or better?
2. Also, I noticed you have Andrew Warner's testimonial on the site. Last time he sent me an email he was using aweber. Did he switch to convertkit?
Thanks,
Sam
@thesamparr Hey Sam,
1. If you love MailChimp, then stick with them. But as you grow I think you'll be like many of our customers and find that to follow email marketing best practices you have to keep hacking around MailChimp.
But if you don't feel that pain yet, you aren't exactly our target customer.
2. He's still on Aweber, but is a fan of our design and user experience. I'm trying to get him to switch. :)
@nathanbarry
Can you elaborate on this: "But as you grow I think you'll be like many of our customers and find that to follow email marketing best practices you have to keep hacking around MailChimp."
What are some examples?
This year we changed the focus of ConvertKit to be on professional bloggers, which meant building out an entirely new suite of marketing automation tools and integrations (https://convertkit.com/2015/gumroad).
Today I'm happy to announce that we now fully support marketing automation! Check out the blueprints section to see get an idea of a few example workflows.
