The Notion integration will a be a real killer. The simplicity of Notion to build website and this to protect content behind a login 🤯
Putri Karunia
@picsoung Yeah actually you should try out Typedream https://typedream.com/, it's website builder that is super simple like Notion, but you can make websites that actually looks great and professional! Cotter would also be super easy to integrate into Typedream. Let me know if you wanna try it out, it's still on early access right now.

Looks like a neat solution, I'll definitely check it out :)

I've been working with Cotter for my new SaaS service and it's super easy to set up. I use multiple forms for different places of login and user creation. This saved me a lot of time. I'm more of a fan of using Passwordless and send email code than the Smart link. Is there an industry standard for when to use what for special use cases or customer flows?
Putri Karunia
@skavhellen Thank you, Thomas! If you're talking about when to use magic link vs code, it depends. Mostly, using magic link is more convenient. However, there are special cases (like Desktop app, etc) that needs to use the Code instead of magic link in order to work. Also generally, entering code might improve security since the user would be consciously entering the code to your website.

Very cool. I look forward to working on an integration to securely gate content. Current solutions allow folks to easily access content by just disabling Javascript.
Michelle Marcelline
Let’s do it!!!☺️
Putri Karunia
@volkandkaya We do have an extensive SDK and API which allows for a full OAuth 2.0 integration which is secure. If you make a built-in integration with Versoly, we can use access tokens generated by Cotter to protect Versoly's API endpoints that handles returning page data on the backend.
Volkan Kaya
@putrikarunia we already have a very simple password protection system that works great (serverless) and is secure. If you're able to send a little extra info with the login request we can use that to give access to the logged in user. We're also looking at adding page restriction by multiple subscription tier. The use case would be for free/basic/premium tier content sites.
Putri Karunia
@volkandkaya Make sense, yes we include a JWT token accessible via the SDK whenever a user is logged-in (also returned when the user just successfully log in). Would that work? For multi-tier subscription, if that's handled on your end, you can also add custom claims to the JWT to specify which tier the user is in.

We use Cotter. Super seamless add-in for passwordless auth. Big fan :)
Putri Karunia
@brendan_falk Thank you, Brendan!
Bogdan Ionita
Awesome work, congrats!
Putri Karunia
@bogdan_ionita Thanks Bogdan!
Davindar Kang
I am a react developer. I found the setup super simple. The best part of Cotter is there support on Slack: super quick, super helpful
Putri Karunia
@davsingh Thank you, Davindar!
Artur Mkrtchyan
Love the simplicity :) was wondering how it compares security wise with memberstack and co. Seems by disabling JS one can access the content as with memberstack, am I missing something?
Putri Karunia
@arturmkrtchyan Hey Artur! Security wise if used on no-code website builders where the user hard-coded their sensitive info on a page, it's the same as Memberstack (disabling JS can allow access to content). However, we do have an extensive SDK and API which allows for a full OAuth 2.0 integration which is secure. This means if you can make a built-in integration with Softr, we can utilize access tokens generated by Cotter to protect Softr's API endpoints that handles returning page data on the backend.

What Cotter are doing for authentication is marvelous. An accessible tool for developers to easily add password-less auth to their websites is definitely needed and it's best that it's a focused product like this instead of always trying to do 'checkout' as well.
Putri Karunia
@richardesigns Thank you, Richard!!
Nader Khalil
I’m such a huge fan of cotter. Building auth is always a nightmare. Even with all the solutions out there, none are as elegant as cotter, both for the builder and the end-user. I would actually be so sad if I couldn’t use Cotter anymore.
Putri Karunia
@naderlikeladder Thank you Nader!!
Maitham Deeb
Congrats on the launch!
Putri Karunia
@maithdeeb Thank you Maitham!

Aaron O'Leary
@michelle_marcelline Hi Michelle! Congrats on the launch! Are there any major changes since the previous update?
Michelle Marcelline
Yes! We made it very simple for NoCode builders to integrate authentication to their websites. No code needed ☺️
Putri Karunia
@michelle_marcelline @aaronoleary Hi Aaron, Michelle's co-founder here. We updated our SDKs and dashboard completely to focus on helping No-code builders add login to their website. All the features that we highlighted in the media are part of our new updates and were not available previously. (We were developer-focused and most of our features, SDKs, and dashboard were very technical and developers had to write their own code in order to achieve the features highlighted above. On the new update, these features are now available through our dashboard and can be done in just a few clicks) Hope this helps!
Hartman
Awesome product. Been using it for a long time!

Perfect for No-Code use cases. Was able to solve a relatively annoying Webflow authentication challenge with Cotter in less than 20 minutes from start to finish. Very helpful and responsive team!
Putri Karunia
@jai_toor Thank you, Jai! Glad it helps!

Looks good but seems expensive imho
Eivind Håverstad
Congrats with the launch. Pretty cool feature and a great onboarding experience for users! One quiestion: Is Cotter login also suited for Bubble apps, @michelle_marcelline?
Eivind Håverstad
@michelle_marcelline Sorry. Did find your stack of integrations now. I'll really consider this for my future Bubble app. Thanks:)
Michelle Marcelline
@eivindhaa Thank you Eivind! For others: Bubble integration can be found on our No-Code Cookbook https://typedream.app/cotter/coo...

Alex Vokuev
I think this is a great solution! Will there be a version for use in mobile applications?
Putri Karunia
@alxvok Thanks Alex! You can use our mobile SDKs to add it to your mobile app. We have a React Native, Flutter, iOS, and Android SDK. Let me know if you need any help! Docs: https://docs.cotter.app/
